"CNet reviews are inconsistent."
Pros: Don't know...honestly haven't tested the phone.
Cons: Don't know...honestly haven't tested the phone.
Summary: Looking at the numerical rating of 7.7 for this phone and comparing the 6086 to the N75 (which I own) I can't believe these ratings are based on objective measures. Instead they appear to evade any standardization and seem more related to the reviewers than the phones themselves. I'd like to see CNet perform a phone-to-phone (Nokia 6086 vs. N75) comparison with the tester being unaware of the prior rating given to each phone. Test each phone's features and performance using some objective measure (albeit somewhat difficult given the different wireless services) and then let's see which of these phones receives the higher rating.
In the end, I can't imagine the N75 coming out as the lesser rated phone. However, I'm open to being wrong.

This is comment on the editorial process not the phone itself. If you haven't used it then don't comment. I have and I love it.

They mentioned clearly the phones unique wifi connect ability to UMA's and T-mobile's unlimited calling plan. Also, they mentioned its ability to automatically hand off between UMA and GSM networks and the clarity and consistency of the wifi call. She hinted at its appeal to cost conscience shoppers - but i think they missed the kudos deserved for a successful implementation of a complex consumer technology.

Maybe it is rated higher because it has Wi-Fi. Also it looks like the N75 has bad battery life and they said it takes crappy pics when it has a 2MP camera. This one isn't "trying" to have a good cam so it doesn't get docked for it.

We all know Cnet can be slightly off in their evaluations sometimes, but that is what real world users like you and me are for. We get the phone, use it, and report our findings/comments in this forum. Unsubstantionated opinions have little merit here.
