"Good phone, but lacks important features" on by respiritu

Pros: Small form factor, Nokia's easy-to-use user interface, simple button layout, bright backlit screen and keypad, Push-to-Talk capable

Cons: No bluetooth, will not work with standard Nokia accessories

Summary: The 6102 is a capable phone, but Nokia made several compromises that may deter some looking to upgrade. First and most glaring is the absence of Bluetooth, which will no doubt turn off a great deal of cellphone users looking to carry over their existing equipment to this new device. The same goes for Nokia's inclusion of a differently-sized charging port, which is annoying because it will force current Nokia users to buy new equipment (like car chargers, for instance).

The phone uses Nokia's new Pop-Port, which enables it to recognize accessories plugged into the 6102 and (from what I've read) lets it recharge all connected units from one power source.

Aesthetically, the phone sports an sleek androgynous finish in black, gray, and silver. Both guys and gals should find this phone pleasing to the eye.

Those looking for a starter phone will find the 6102 a great buy, since you can pick it up from most resellers for free. Consumers in the market for a moderately featured phone should look elsewhere.

"First Nokia flip phone gets the job done" on by Samhain425

Pros: vibrant screen, good call quality, slick keypad design, camera

Cons: no extendable antenna or bluetooth capability

Summary: This phone just came out and as I was looking to upgrade I wanted a reliable phone that doesn't drop calls and this one fits the bill. It has a nice design, is slim and has a great color screen that's very sharp. The camera and keypad layout are also bonuses and I haven't encountered any faults with it yet.

"Familiar Menus but Durability Issues" on by joshgoicoechea

Pros: Menus are easy to learn and very familiar to Nokia users, infared is nice

    Cons: VERY FRAGILE

Summary: I have had to replace 2 Nokia 6102 handsets in the last 60 days. They both have had similar failures. The first one both the external and main displays failed, totally black and unresponsive with no physical abuse or cracking Im guessing some sort of internal short. The second one the back light on both the external and main displays failed. They are still functioning but impossible to see unless you hold it under an external light source.

"pretty darn good" on by IanHurley

Pros: all the features you'll need (probably)

Cons: speaker is kinda hard to hear

Summary: I recently got this phone and I am loving it. The cool features like an external screen, video recorder and .mp3 ringtones are awesome features. The phone's ringer is easy to hear, but the actual speaker where you hear the talker is a tad quiet and even all the way up, in loud environments, you would have to have pretty decent hearing. Besides that, my only wishes were that (somehow) you could put an mp3 file on it from your computer to play as your ringtone. Instead of paying for your personalized favorite songs, you could use them from your computer as much as you wanted for free, but sadly that is just a dream (though they never promised it).

All in all, I'd recommend this phone. It is basic enough where it's not too complicated, but cell phone enthusiasts will still love all the extra intracacies.

"Good phone but be careful" on by b.rodgsr

    Pros: User friendly, decent camera

    Cons: Fragile Outer Screen

Summary: This is a great phone. I love everything about it beside one small but important issue. The outer mini display is VERY fragile. All I did was close the phone quickly and it cracked; not the outer plasic, but the actual screen inside the plastic lense.. I have two friends that have the same problem. Make sure you get the coverage plan, because otherwise, the Cingular store will not fix it. Other than that, I love this phone.
