"Great phone with excellent call quality."

by bpdrumr on October 15, 2007

Pros: Call quality and rich with features for the price.

Cons: Battery life isnt the greatest, but I've found it to be acceptable.

Summary: I've had this phone for a week now and so far, I love it. Coming from an LG CU500 which was notorious for dropping calls, this phone sounds better, looks better and seems to handle the transition from 3G to Edge towers seemlessly.

The display is vibrant and bright. I've not had any issues seeing the screen in sunlight.

Mine came preloaded with 3 instant messenger clients, AOL, Microsoft and Yahoo. It also comes with web mail clients for most major email providers.

Call quality is really really good. Probably one of the best sounding phones I've owned. I've not used the speaker phone yet so i cant speak to it. I had no problems pairing up with my Plantronics Voyager bluetooth headset.

The browser seems to work well. Web page load times were acceptable and in line with other phones I've tried.

For music, The speaker sound is ok. It seems to become a little distorted at nominal volumes. If this is an important feature to you, ask the sales person for a demo before you buy.

Battery life, as others have reported is less than some other phones. I personally am one of those people that charge my phone nightly. It's not been an issue for me. I would consider myself to be an average cell phone user. I text a lot and talk a few hours per day. For the sake of comparison, I let the battery run down (after the initial charge) and after three days, I needed to recharge. I got about four hours of talk time, at least 1/2 on a bluetooth. Received about 5 calls on vibrate and sent a hundred or so text messages.

All in all, the phone seems like a great value. Since it's a relatively new phone, there are some great deals out there with rebates.

If you can deal with charging your phone a little more than you may be used to, I would highly recommend this phone.
