"Slim and feature rich, but with a major achilles heel" on by jimsiff
Pros: The call quality, reception, display, mp3, camera, and Internet features are solid
Cons: Battery life is horrid. The glossy top and bottom plate are extremely scratch prone
Summary: I live in a 3G service area, and got a pair of 6555s to replace aging Sony Erricson phones.
First the good:
The phone has a vibrant display, great reception, and call quality, functional MP3 player and decent Internet and voice dial capabilities. For the price, the features make this phone a winner... BUT
The bad:
Both new handsets have extremely poor battery life, validating the Editor's review. After two full charge cycles, I was able to get 100 minutes talk time and less than 2 days standby before the battery was completely dead. That was with no Internet or SMS usage.
Also, the glossy front and back covers are very scratch prone. Don't put this phone in your pocket with loose change, keys, or anything else hard. If you do, you will be dissapointed to find scratches all over. These phones are as scratch prone as the 1st Generation iPod Nanos.
If you don't mind sacrificing phone durability and battery life for a sleek, feature rich phone at a good price, this is a great choice. If not, look elsewhere. I will be returning these phones.
