Summary: I am not a phone geek and have used a Star Tac on Verizon since 2001. My new vehicle has integrated hands free bluetooth so I needed a new phone. I recently purchased a Nokia 6682 from Cingular. Wow, this thing seems to do it all and does it well! I frequintly use the "contacts" and "to do" functions and the phone allows me to easily assign these to the left and right selection keys. Up to five additional functions of my choosing (caculator, music player, email, call log, games etc.) can be programed to the different points on the round navigation key, so I am not constantly scrolling through menus. The phone has a dedicated button which activates the speaker phone and, if held down for a second or two, opens the voice command dialogue. This allows not only calls to be placed but also opens programs by merely speaking the appropriate voice tag. Program icons on the menu screen can be moved and arranged in a grid pattern, further enhancing the ease of use. The Bluetooth links flawlessly with my cars integrated hands free system whenever I enter the vehicle. I like the fact that I now have a 1.2 MP camera (with video capabilitiy) with me at all times and I am not carting another device. I have used the editing software to automaticly create videos and perform simple editing with the images then email them. I also have found it convienient to be able to easily check and send email from my phone. The trial MobiTV program works but the picture stutters a bit and the service is an additional $10/mo. I don't intend to keep it. There may be several features I may not ever need but this phone is remarkably easy to use, gets a good signal and reliably connects to my cars system. The MP3 player works great although there are no controls for modifying the sound. A nice selection of ringtones is provided and they are easily assigned to specific entries or groups in the contacts. The related help menu is available from the option tab. Battery life seems good. I have been using it alot as I explore features and leave it powered on (with bluetooth) 24/7 and have not charged it for 4 days and I still have 4 of 5 bars. The speaker phone sounds better than others I have heard and music through the speaker is tinny but ok. I have seen some reviews complain about the small keys but I have found them very easy to use with the possible exception of the center position on the navigation button which sometimes requires extra care to press accuratly. I have read where some find the phone too large. I personally think it is a nice size considering all it has to offer. How much smaller can such a device become and still be practical? Neither do I have any complaints about the sliding cover for the camera lense that others have mentioned. Perhaps it could be improved but I have not experienced any problems yet. I would like to see a good case for it though. There is also folding bluetooth qwerty keyboard available which might be a benifit for some people. The capabilities on this phone so surpass anything I have used in the past 15 years it is difficult for me to even make comparisons. Despite its many features, it is remarkably easy to navigate and set up. I found it a breeze configuring my AOL email (had to enter server info)and accessing nearly all functions. The 64 meg card is fine but I will be getting something larger for image and audio files. I cannot speak for other phones currently on the market but it is my opinion that Nokia did an excellent job integrating the many features on this phone to make it easy to operate. I do not know what else I could possibly want or expect in a cell phone.

After I added a 512 card I find I am no longer losing my call logs when I power off the phone! The MP3 player works great and I have lots of music on the new card. Lots of additional software available for phone too including other types of music and video players. And I found a decent case which rotates and clips onto my belt for about $15 at CompUSA. The phone works great but I have learned to be careful not to hit the off button which is easy to sometimes do.Updated
This phone had been made unavailable awhile back because of some firmware issues. I see it is available again on Cingular web site. Great phone! My wifes new SE W600i is nice but this is easier to navigate and use and has more features. Lost call logs during a power cycle was an issue with many users. I had this problem too but have not had it occur for a week or so. I do not know if Cingular had fixed it automaticlly somehow or what but it has not been happening of late. -

Cons: Small Keys (you get used to it), bloatware the phone comes loaded with, cut down version of European 6680, price direct from Cingular ($300)
Summary: I just got this phone 3 days ago and so far it has been the best phone that I have ever owned. The last phones that I have owned in order have been a Sony Ericsson T68i, T616, T637, Motorola v551, Nokia 6230, and now this Nokia 6682. I've definitely been around the block with cell phones, so when I say this is the best of that bunch it actually means something. The most important thing to most people is reception and this phone is top notch in this area.
I listed the pro's above but I wanted to elaborate a little bit on the fact that this is a Symbian Series 60 phone. I really didn't understand what this meant before I got this phone, but it really is a full blown smartphone. Two of the apps that I have been most happy with that I got right away have been Agile Messenger from Agile Mobile, and ProfiMail. The first is an IM client that allows you to use EDGE instead of SMS for IM'ing. Very handy if you have unlimited MediaNET from Cingular. The latter is an awesome email program that does a great job of packing everything on to the screen with tons of features and customizations. Most phones don't have full blown applications for download like this phone which makes this phone a true smartphone to me.
I'm an Apple user as well, and it was definitely a relief coming from the Nokia 6230 which was a Series 40 phone and not supported by iSync to have full iSync support again. It works flawlessly. Calendar items for the current day are right on the main screen along with to-do notes (it's called active standby).
The MP3 player is great, and the headphones that come with the phone are nice as well, although I wish that the phone had a 3.5mm mini-plug so that you could use your own headphones. The headphones are earbuds and the buds are just a little big for my ears.
I've heard that this phone can be found for about $100 from letstalk.com
I highly recommend this phone, but am definitely looking forward to Nokia's next phone that has UMTS/3G. -

Pros: Edge, Bluetooth, form factor and ok camera
Cons: Software buggy not enough memory
Summary: This is a good phone offered by Cingular, I bought it as an upgrade to the Nokis 6620 which was a great phone but the form factor was a little childish. The camera is pretty good at 1.3 mega pixels and I thought the slider that covers the lens would be a problem but it's held up nicely.
The problem with buying a phone when it first hits the market is all thew bugs me not be worked out.
The call log clears when you shut off the phone, I could not get my headset to work with this phone I had to buy a new BT one that would stay connected. I would guess the next version of software will be more stable so if you could wait a few months I would.
Now the real falw with this phone is the lack of internal memory! I believe it's 8mb and not nearly enough to run a smart phone, unless you shut down one application you will get errors with the next.
With that in mind I would have a hard time recommending this phone. If Nokia increases the memory and fixes the software this would be the best phone on the market right now. -

Summary: i love this phone.. i had a SE s710a and there is no comparison. I love the size for being a smartphone, the reception is top notch because its a nokia of course. bluetooth connects fast and immediately unlike the s710a, and the class 10 edge is very fast. I love apps like voicesignal and all the editing apps. Some apps were useless and i would never use them so i uninstalled them. I can upgrade the memory to 512mb. there are the call log and copy to sim bugs after power cycles but i can live with it doesnt bug me at all. battery life is great. theres alot more pros but im not going to list them all.

Summary: I was with Verizon Wireless for about 10 years and had about 5 phones over those years. Not one of them compares to this Nokia 6682. This phone is superb.
First off, even though its a "smartphone" I still think phone quality is a huge concern when purchasing a cell phone. This phone's call and voice quality is excellent. I haven't had one dropped call yet and every call comes in loud and clear and everyone else can hear me. It's beautiful.
Second, the phone has a lot of features. The 1.3 megapixel camera is very nice and the built in flash actually works!
Third, email and the Web. This phone does it. However, I had to give this phone a 9 because setting up my POP3 email account was a bit difficult and Cingular support, because the phone is brand new, did not have all of the knowledge with the phone. Luckily I was on Cingular's member forum and someone else told me how to get it up and running. Now that its working, the email is great. I get my Yahoo email and my personal email from my cable ISP. The only other drawback is that the Web browser on the phone doesn't support full HTML so if you receive an email with an HTML web content it most likely won't be viewable. But, these kinds of phones aren't designed to be full fledged web browsers.
Bluetooth actually works. Everything syncs perfectly with my Mac.
I really love this phone. It does everything I need. If you are considering a Blackberry or Palm Treo, you might want to consider the Nokia 6682.
