"This is a great device!" on by scripkilla
Pros: pda | phone combo - it's the best technology can offer
Cons: kinda bulky when you need it as a phone, screen res
Summary: I am here to tell anyone familiar with technology to discard a good portion of the negative opinions of the Treo 600. Did you notice (as I did) how the CNET editor gives the Treo 600 a 8.6, yet others give it a 1,2,or 3? Something doesn't add up here. The reason is that this device is essentially a little computer, which means people can screw it up when they try to make it do things it isn't meant to do. I would bet a lot of these bad opinions are from people that tampered and tampered with phone settings, downloading shareware, etc. then turnaround and blame the Treo 600. I have had this phone for several months now and have had absolutely no problems with it. Oh, and it works great with Yahoo! intellisync - another item people say causes problems.
I know this review doesn't provide a lot of details about the device itself, but my intent was to restore some confidence in a product that has unfairly been flamed on this site. -
"Threw my 4th replacement in the garbage!" on by jschulman
Pros: Conceptually great.
Cons: Practically awful
Summary: Terrible phone reception. Several hardware problems. Had to send phone to PalmOne 4 times and was without a cell phone for weeks as a result. Then, each time I would be sent a "reconditioned" treo which would have a new set of problems. PalmOne's customer service phone number is near impossible to find. . . gee, do you think that is a coincidence?

"Overpriced unreliable phone that Verizon won't service." on
Pros: All-in-one PDA and cellphone. Speakerphone, camera. Ability to syncronize with outlook.
Cons: Phone has stub antenna, and therefore cuts in and out of service on Verizon's CDMA network (network designed for pull-up antennas). Sometimes will even show service but will miss calls. This device has "reset" itself twice in a 20 day period, loosing al

"Radio Performance is Poor" on by blwillia
Pros: Palm features are excellent
Cons: Very Poor reception compared to other Verizon phones
Summary: The review of the Verizon Wireless Handspring Treo 600 was not based on accurate test. The editor says that they used a GSM version of the phone and that is not the same phone. Verizon's network is CDMA and unless they are testing an CDMA Verizon Wireless version of the Handspring Treo 600, there performance tests are not relevant. I have worked for Verizon and Verizon Wireless and spent many years as a RF Field Engineer. I noticed a significant drop in performance since I purchased the Treo 600. I am dropping calls where I never had a problem with the other half dozen Verizon Wireless phones I have owned. I had Verizon Wireless tech support replace the phone twice and the problem still exists. I finally decided to buy another phone because I am convinced that the Handspring Treo 600 Verizon Wireless CDMA 800 MHz radio has problems.

"Very Cool All-in-One" on by Diann
Pros: a great little all in one device - use all features while on a call, look up phone #'s while on a call
Cons: NO VOICE DIALING, very poor image quailty on camera, some apps have only 1 way synching capability
Summary: I like this phone! I am a big fan of all in ones. I am constantly looking to combine & shrink my PDA, phone, camera, MP3 player and this offers all. It's also audible ready & works great in this area. Love the speaker phone which is a new feature for me, comes in very handy when driving. Synching with Act Database was a breeze. Battery power is fine but I top off every day as the book suggests. Problems: Some Palm applications warn that only 1 way synching is avail but they are working on a upgrade and the camera is good for a little fun but produces lousy images.
Updated
the book states the Treo is capable of voice dialing but additional charges may apply to sign up for verizon's voice-gear service, when I called verizon they said it's an old discontinued svc. The sales rep said all verizon phones have voice-activated dialing - I beleive he lied.
