"The C150 is OK, but it has several things I find bothersome" on by Old Phony
Pros: Good reception, visible screen outside, durable, accurate voice quality, large font size, very low radiation, adequate talk time
Cons: Ring volume changing a nusance, Hard to recover messages, buttons too small for large fingers, keypad does not light up when phone rings at night, center toggle button defaulted to the browser
Summary: OK, the price was right..I got it for the taxes with AT&T($15). But I did not order it for that reason. I spent about four days off and on, going to the phone store, then back to CNET, checking out all the phones, trying to find a basic one that had killer reception, durability, easy message management, and a keypad that would not give my thumb carple tunnel. I was going to buy the Motorola heavy duty flip phone (V3?)until I checked out the radiation value (1.4 Watts/kg). I decided to go with the C150 bar style when the user reviews were so good, and the radiation was only 0.6 watts/kg. I use my phone 3 hours per day, and my brain is damaged enough from Miller High life! Having now used the Pantech for about a month, I rate it a 7.0. It's a pain to step it through every volume level to get to off (it will not let you hold it down to automatically toggle to off), the center toggle logs onto the browser when I cross my arms over my front pocket, and it takes almost 10 seconds to log off of that before I can make a call. I also find it cumbersome to retrieve my messages. The icon is so darn small I have to take my glasses off to see it, and you have to toggle to the message icon to see how many you have, rather than having the screen tell you. I was excited about the backlited keypad, until I discovered it did not lite up when the phone rang! So, there I am, tying to be sure I push the answer button rather than the clear! It also annoys me that the message received feature does not recognize that numbers entered with their area code are the same as the same caller who does not enter it. I also often activate the photo switch on the right side of the bar while gripping the phone with my right hand to toggle down the volume level. It also has the annoying feature of automatically calling the last number when you push the send button once to light up the phone in the dark, so you can make a call. I would also prefer that it NOT list your home area code every call made. The screen is too small to then easily read the number you are trying to recover. It would be much nicer if only area codes outside your home were listed. So, I will not bore you with any more issues I have with this "candy bar". I guess the good reception and voice recognition is sufficient for the moment for me to use it until something better comes along, even if I have to pay for it! I found the phone selection for AT&T users poor. All I want is a phone, not a toy!

"Great Feel and Design" on by ozzie13
Pros: Design, Size, Call Quality
Cons: Basic Camera
Summary: For the money, this is one of the best looking phones on the market, with the main features most people need. As important, it is small enough to put in your pocket and not even know it is there. It is also nice to see a product that is not black or silver like everyone else. I travel and the call quality has been very good everywhere I go.
If you the need all the latest data video features and high mpixel camera, this is not for you, but otherwise, it is a great phone for the average user. -
"Well worth the investment." on by inside9
Pros: Pretty, small, basic, good sound quality.
Cons: Not so customizable, no corded headset or pc cable available.
Summary: This is a great little, and I mean truly small, phone with good sound quality. It does all the basic things I want for the price of a two year commitment to AT&T. I am still learning about the battery life, but so far so good and people tell me they can also hear me nicely. I am getting signal where others are not and the Unity plan makes this a real winner. You can't get it outside of AT&T. I am not sure how well it may be personalized as I do not have a bluetooth computer. Seems like a real keeper.

"Solid with Some Flaws" on by adamantflasher
Pros: I think most of the people know the PROS. But my favorite is the simplicity and the look of it.
Cons: When the battery is low, it plays this audio clip that REPEATS every 2 mins until its plugged in. DRIVES ME NUTS! I end up turning off my phone at that point. (see more below)
Summary: Need to preface that I'm one of those people that just use their cell phones for calling and texting.
(in order of annoyance) :
1. When the battery is low, it plays this audio clip that REPEATS every 2 mins until its plugged in. DRIVES ME NUTS! I end up turning off my phone at that point.
2. Speaker phone audio volume could be MUCH louder. Also, most people on the other end can't hear me.
3. Regular phone volume is a tad lower than I'd like.
4. The joystick is not re-programmable! I don't need to browse the net, I rather it do something else. I have it programmed to auto-lock but since the joystick sticks up above all the other buttons, it gets pushed in my bag all the time, turning on the phone lights, and thus contributing to why the battery is so short lived.
5. Can't delete the default phone numbers to access AT&T on my phone book.
6. Would prefer having a regular headset plug rather than a bluetooth, but this isn't a big deal.
Honestly, still a great phone for what I need it for. Despite the issues I have with it, I don't regret getting it at all.
P.S. Read some other negative postings, not sure why some people mentioned easily breakable - I've dropped mine several times and it's been fine. No dropped calls, good buttons, and like the size alot. -
"Great phone" on by ajeter21918
Pros: Easy to use; good call quality
Cons: Not many accessories available
Summary: This is a great phone. I ordered it online and took it to an AT&T store to have my address book transferred from my old phone. Pantech's website has a online demo of the features, which made it very easy to set up; I had no problem adding my email account and, for the first time, have email on my phone. The call quality is much better than my Motorola. Best of all, since I was due for an upgrade, I got the phone for free. The only downside was that the store didn't have a wired headset. Since I wear glasses, I've never found a wireless headset that is comfortable to wear. However, that's a minor issue that will be resolved in the near future.
