"close to a smart phone w/o the high data plan"5.0 starson by Kodom_123
Pros: great battery life, big-ish screen, resposive touch screen, clear calls, great pic quality, slide out keyboard, display
Cons: calender stinks, no editing pics,
Summary: I love this phone..i upgraded from the Propel to the pursuit and quickly decided to trade for the ease! Everyone says the battery life sucks, and at first it did! I got a new battery and I made sure to ignore what the booklet said about charging...I completely drained it when i got it and then i charged it for 16 hrs. I am a heavy talker/txter, i only have to charge it now once every two days!!! Make sure you do the battery right from the start and you really shouldnt have any probs.
The screen is a good size, you can set special ringtones for your contacts. You choose a special tone for your message alerts but its the same accross the board, you cant set one for each person you text...i miss that feature cuz i text alot!
I also miss the great organizing capabilities of my propel's calender. No birthday settings in the calender its self, you cant set something to recur over n over, and the farthest you can set the alarm for is 1 hr!! I dont care for the calender at all.
you can pair through blue tooth to other blue tooth capable phones and file share and you also can use the micro sd card to put tones/pics on the phone . The charger is also the data cable so you can connect directly to your laptop.
Pantech gives you a link to download a software program to your computer that has the driver software so you can do stuff from your computer on your phone. I havent been able to download this software yet though, i keep getting error msgs.
Over all if you cant afford a smart phone or the plan to go with it...some thing like this is good! Its as close as you can get with out taking the plunge into smart phones.
