Samsung Convoy SCH-U640 (Verizon Wireless)

Pros: Battery life amazing. Rugged phone. I

Cons: Samsung and Verizon acknowledge that this phone has a problem with "backup assitant". It will delete all your contacts, will turn on and off when you scroll your contacts.

Summary: I waited four years to get a new phone and wanted a rugged phone.
I was shocked and dismayed when after 6 weeks of use my phone started having issues.
Once it deleted my contacts, even when restored, it had odd script in my contact list, that when you went to delete it would shut the phone off. It would shut the phone off when you used the bluetooth and randomly shut it off. I did not reinvenst in another two year contract to get a defective phone.

This issue IS talked about in the verizon community with this problem and this phone AND in speaking to Customer Service yesterday at Verizon they said Samsung has been able to duplicate the problem but they have no fix.

Verizon is letting me change models of phones, for if my husband had not been kind enough to turn off his one line and loan me his phone I would have been without my cell phone for four days, which is not something I can do.

Verizon was very helpful today when I told them I no longer wanted this model phone and are sending me a different model.

I think this phone should not be on the market until this issue is resolved.
