Samsung Delve SCH-r800 (Alltel)

Pros: The feature of this phone are excellent. The turn by turn Navigation rivals and standalone Nav system, even has real time traffic at no cost, included in my Alltel plan. Was leary of touch only but this phone works perfectly.

Cons: It's a lot slower to crank out a quick text, I'm coming from a KRZR with predictive and I could do that one handed in my sleep. To send texts you kind of have to go a few menu buttons , then when qwerty pops up you have to turn phone. T9 blows.

Summary: I guess bottom line if you were leary of the so called "smart phones" because they have a lot of stuff you'll never use as I was this is the phone for you. I absolutely love it, except the culture shock of the text message process, but in the few days I've had it I've gotten faster and better. The touch qwerty takes some getting used to and if you tap through pretty quickly you'll hit wrong buttons but you can tap where the wrong letter is and it'll move curser there. No more backspace without erasing the text, but it's worth the trade off. The camera takes great pics, there is even a postcard feature where you can take an image, and essentially use a paint program with different colors to decorate the pic and send it like a postcard or birthday card, pretty fun. There is a note pad you can draw on and save. The phone has handwriting recognition, so you can write out texts, grocery lists, etc . and it works great. I really like the full html capability, I work using online apps so I can work from anywhere, except much slower. No WiFi but the EVDO is pretty fast. I like the vibrating response to touch. I also like the widget on the side with my most used apps similar to Rocket Dock. All in all a great phone. Highly recommended.
