"Great Phone, nice camera" on by wchs_07
Pros: Smooth phone really nice design
Cons: Can be sluggish but overall very well put together
Summary: Overall i really love this phone i recently bought it through BestBuy for $100, not too bad for the lastest phone if you ask me. It has a reallt nice camera that will rival some japenese made 8mp cameras i have seen, i do like the camera features they are easy to access and layed out very well. You can go from talking to someone to making a movie and go back without any problems. The mp3 player on the face works perfect i have a 4gb card in mine with all my music and i havent used my ipod since i bought the phone. There are 3 phone themes you can use there is a new "camera" theme for obviously this new phone, the espresso theme, and the classic verizon theme. Txtn is something i love on this phone becasue you are able to see the txt on the front screen, something new for me. The only thing i dont like is the txt`n is not as fast as a razor or w385, which is what i had..but this phone more than makes up for that. Its a very solid built phone with an impressive battery life for a multimedia phone with this many capabilities. phone has a headphone jack that is convient, and a charger/usb uplink port right below it. "does not use a usb adapter" I do love this phone and i have it in red so i do hope this review was helpfull if you would like a picture or ?`s you can find me on myspace http://www.myspace.com/superchargercc99

"Love this phone!" on by mgtzsmile
Pros: No need to take a digital camera or camcorder along!
Cons: If you get a call while recording, the video stops while you chose to take the call or not. You cannot continue to record same segment. Must start a new one after saving the first recording.
Summary: I love this phone! I take tons of pictures and have even recorded my kids special events w/ the camcorder. It reads out text messages, takes sketch pictures, portrait pictures, etc. Add a SIM card and record for up to an hour or so. (bought a 2GB card at best buy for $20.) I currently have about 80 pictures and 6 videos saved on phone. Reception is great. I've had phone for about 4 months have had maybe about 4 dropped calls.

"Samsung Flipshot U900 Calendar Problems" on by slp1234
Pros: Great Camera-Styling
Cons: Deadly bad Calendar
Summary: Having replaced the Flipshot's predicessor 5 times and waiting for months for its replacement (SCHa990's) due to a faulty calendar, it is extremely frustrating to see the same defects in this important and basic cell phone feature.
Simply stated, calendar entries change, disappear, replicate and the worst part is when calendar alarms go off and you can't delete what had already been a deleted entry unless you delet your ENTIRE calendar.
I must admit I am also perplexed why all the professional reviews for these 2 Samsung phones never mentioned or discoved this significant defect before recommending them to their readers, like CNET.
On the other hand, if you don't need to have a reliable calendar for business or family reminders, the U900 is an excellent camera phone. -
"FABULOUS phone!" on by jellybelly578
Pros: Very reliable, sturdy, nice camera
Cons: It's perfect!
Summary: I absolutely love this phone. This is the sturdiest, most reliable phone I have ever had. It was lost for three weeks (the result of a snowball fight in which I fell down a lot :). When it was found, it had been in snow, ice, hail, rain, and mud for over 21 days, and worked perfectly. At first, there was some moisture in the camera, but I put it in my pocket, and within 8 hours, there was no water in the camera lens, and the camera worked perfectly. Never before have I seen a phone be alive after three weeks in those conditions- I still can't believe there were no problems whatsoever- still the same service, no damage to the screen, no mold or anything... wow!
It's also the perfect size- small enough so it can fit in your pocket, but not so small you'll lose it like some of the other phones. It's sleek but sturdy, which is a rare and valuable combination!
I also love how easy everything is to use. It's very intuitive.
The FlipShot also has a very nice battery life.
If you want a phone that is sturdy, easy to use, and pretty to look at, I would definitely recommend the FlipShot! -
"Shutter Delay no problemo here!! GREAT CAMERA!!" on by RMMullaney1
Pros: **Awesome camera phone
**Great MP3 Player
**MP3 controls right on front of phone
**Pairs up with most Bluetooth
**Voice Activated Dialing/Commands
**Text by speaking your message!Cons: **Alarm doesn't work if phone is off
**Voice dial repeats over speaker
**Somewhat odd placement of camera lense.Summary: Okay so this phone is awesome. Had a few issues at first that really almost turned me off this phone but I've found out the loopholes so I'm hear to share my discoveries. First getting music onto this thing was a royal pain at first and I got different answers from everyone. Bottom line is you can do it with either the little mini SD card or a USB cable. It needs to be in WMA or MP3 format. It has to be put directly into the "My Music" file that you find when you pop in the SD card or plug in the usb cable. My problem is when I went to transfer an albumn over it would break the ablbum up into several different folders WITHIN the "my music" folder. Like by artist, albumn title, etc. You can't do this. Everything gets all lumped together in that folder then when you open up "my music" on the phone it will automatically segregate everything for you. VERY COOL. I love that I have no requirement to "buy" songs from Verizon and I can use all the stuff I already have in my library. Heck...I don't even need an IPOD/MP3 player now...it's right in my phone. And the fact that the buttons are right on the front of the phone for skipping, playing/pausing, etc.
Second issue was the FOREEVVERRR long delay with the autofocus on the camera. Like over a second which when you're trying to take a picture of your toddler..you know is IMPOSSIBLE..ha! Anyway, some suggested just turning the autofocus off. So, I did that and all the pictures were even more blurry...of course. BUT when I turned it back on...WA LAA!! Perfect. Now the sucker works quicker than my digital camera at focusing. Don't ask me how or why that seemed to make it work faster but it is now. So..it's by far the best thing about this phone. I also like the voice activated dialing and that it's not voice specific...meaning if I take my hubby's phone one day I can still voice dial our home. My old phone you had to personally record each contact and it only recognized your voice. You can also voice activate other things like sending a picture. Heck...you can even talk and send a text message...very cool feature. I don't use texting too much myself but it seems to have all the typical bells and whistles other than a qwerty keyboard. It also paired up very easily with my old plantronics bluetooth.
Now for the cons. I don't like that the voice dial comes up over the speaker phone. Although you can change the setting to not make you have to confirm it every time, it'd be nice if it just kept the functions it was performing to itself instead of having to announce it...it's just a little weird.
Also it was weird getting used to the placement of the lense. At first I was constantly trying to hold the phone there and kept smudging up the lense. Only took a little while to get used to though...not a big deal now.
Lastly...the alarm...it doesn't work when the phone's off or dead...(you might think duh! but my last phone (a nokia) did this even if the battery was dead...don't ask me how but it did!)
Bottom line though...if you're looking for a good phone you can't beat a 3.0mp camera w/flash and a built in mp3 player plus all the other things on this cell phone. It's really a great phone! Call clarity is excellent too of course.
