  • "The worst phone I've ever had..."
    on by NorthernProducer

    Pros Battery life

Cons Won't make calls half the time even with 2 to 3 bars showing. Verizon replaced the original phone for the same problem and the replacement phone is just as bad. When near a cell booster, the phone returns error and drops the call.

Summary I talked to a cell phone development engineer and he said the phone is the issue and not the network or cell booster/amps. It's a "cheap" phone that costs too much and does not perform calling or receiving calls. Material and construction are horrible, keys don't work at times and Verizon should pull this phone from their offerings. I am giving up on Samsung going to my Apple Store for a new iPhone.

  • "Cheap, inconsistent reception, alarm doesn't work."
    on by Trans87

Pros Cheap $19.99 at the Verizon store. Verizon after having it for 2 days taking them back, Verizon wanted to charge a $35 restocking fee per phone.

Cons Everything. The phone quality is sorely lacking and how Samsung could even dream up a MSRP of $199.99 for this piece of junk is incredible.

The phone has a mind of it's own and does things without pushing buttons.

Summary Be very careful what you are buying, check it out first on the internet. Find out what the store policies are. When you have to pay more for a return than the product costs in the first place something is very WRONG!!!

And Verizon has not disappointed me with their snotty, rude employees either!

  • "Only ONE OK Thing about this phone..."
    on by MattMcLean

Pros The battery life... I bought an Extended battery...

    Cons Everything else..

Summary I pretty much agree with most of the reviews I've read...
This phone is JUNK... The one, and only good thing about this phone is the Battery life, instead of the standard battery, I bought an extended battery... The internet on this phone is USELESS, Camera is useless. The signal is OK in most places that other Verizon customers get service... Even my Boost Phone was better than the Gusto. Love Verizon but this is the WORST phone they have ever sold...

    Better than I originally thought.
Good call quality, Reception, and loud ringtones. I've had this phone for about 11 months... I have talked on it for OVER 205 hours on the life timer, and I have dropped it (Can't Count that high) and it still works just fine. the ONLY thing I had to do is buy a new battery door, Because I've dropped it so many times. Tough, Reliable and Durable... for a bottom-of-the-line flip phone.

    Pros not a good choice

Cons not recommended..... since day one i have had problems with the phone constantly turning off and then back on again making that chime every time....I have lost calls, it goes off and on in the middle of the night, alarm will not work for the daily choi

    Pros READ SUMMARY

    Cons READ SUMMARY

Summary I purchased the device for my use as a phone that I'd use for trips. I barely had the phone for 2 weeks, and the phone crapped out on me. I REALLY love Samsung electronics (why I have a Samsung device at the moment) but phone's SHOULD be engineered to last a 2 year commitment (not 2 weeks)

    My issues:
Ok, so since I have a smartphone, I WAS going to use this phone for trips as I mentioned, so that nothing happened to my current phone. well, if your going to go on scenic trips, you'd probably want to use a camera, wouldn't you. You see, I have a digital camera, yes, but I use it for video, I don't use it to lug around and take pictures of stuff, I want a convenient little pocket sized camera that can be used as a phone, and maybe a few more little features, but the camera on this thing would NEVER START. It would either say something about DEVICE CAMERA ERROR, or Camera error. One time it did open, but the resolution was crappy. I convinced Verizon that this phone was basically BROKEN and they offered to send me another Gusto, and I thought, OK, fine, maybe it will function better, well, I had it fixed my camera issue, but now came down to a newer issue. 2,3,6 and 9 keys switched positions nearly every time I had to dial a number, so you were left pressing keys repeatedly until you knew what key was assigned to which button, AND thank goodness for Backup Assistant, as that helped for the numbers I didn't have saved. I took it back to the store I had gotten it from (Verizon) and since I was in my 15 day return period, they let me choose an LG COSMOS 2 which so far I'm loving. I tried to go simple, but this phone really could only compare to a car phone, that bad of a phone. If you want a simple phone, go with the LG Revere, the Accolade (I ONCE HAD) and the Gusto, are not worth your time!

The LG Revere is tons better then this device, if you're looking for reliability, this is where i'd go
