"Excellent choice if not used with Bluetooth" on by ashirik

Pros: Design, quality of reception/sound, easy to use

Cons: Terrible, absolutely terrible Bluetooth connection.

Summary: I purchased 2(two) of the phones for my family. Design, quality of sound/reception is excellent. It is very easy to use, dial bottoms are very well designed, graphics... However, this phone is not, absolutely not good to be used with Bluetooth. I tried 4(four) different Bluetooth units. Moto, Jabra, Plantoronics and Samsung. Quality of the sound is terrible. Reception is good; however, people are unable to understand half of what you’re saying. There is nothing to do with the Bluetooth, because the same units are perfect with the other phones. After all, if you want to use it like it is, this phone a perfect choice;… stay away if used with Bluetooth.

"great in rural areas" on by malindaez

    Pros: great reception

Cons: slightly heavier than other samsung phones

Summary: I am from a very rural area of Louisiana and reception is hard to find but since I've had the Samsung Hue I have reception and clarity in more areas than I ever could have imagined and I absolutely would recommend this phone to anyone.......

"Snazzy, but don't accessorize" on by Dontyouknowyet

Pros: Sleek, Stylish, fun to play with.

Cons: Keys too close, Audio level not enough in noisy areas.

Summary: The Samsung Hue does shine in most of its areas, such as the slimline build although the "chin" makes it hard to balance when you need to change position. The Camera is average but to use the video recoreder expect to have to buy more memory to get what you want. I purchased a 1GB microSD card and it holds about 400+ songs if you're into music or gives you about 30 minutes of video. Picture quality is average at best. To really enjoy the MP3 Player you need to purchase the stereo headset. To upload your own tunes, you have to buy the JumpKit for about $50 and you get the USB cable, headset, a Jumpkick bag to hold it in. You have to download the Jumpkick program from Altell's website. The program is not really user friendly and only has Version 1.0.0.0 on it. Don't expect much there. You can NOT add your own ringtones or sounds to the phone. This really sucks especially when I like to create my own ringtones and sounds. Don't expect miracles if your in a fairly loud area and want to hear your phone's audio. It quickly dies in the background and becareful of the speakerphone feature, it can be hard on your ears if you forget to turn it off.

Connecting to the internet is easy, although I find the T2 dictionary a bit lame and you can not change the preset text. The Access Browser really does leave a lot to be desired and the bookmarks are few and don't save very well. The goto URL feature is also hard to navigate or change if you need to do it on the fly. Texting is a bit easier but the keyboard is small for my big fingers. The video side of the phone is average. And it does go through a lot of buffering which you can watch your phone studder causing missed words when the buffer has to reload. The buffer is basically a load first play later. It does not have a smooth transition between load and play. However, if you love games on your phone, its a superb microplayer. The screen is colorful, bright, fairly easy to view unless you have to find a small detail during the game such as in some of the action/stratagy games. Games like Bejewelled and Chuzzles are quite well suited and are a blast to play.

The CellTop player does have a ton of things that I don't desire. For example, The cells are preset and you can only get what they offer. Although Altell says they are developing more, I am not interested in stocks, Multiple Sports including Rodeo scores. Currently I only use 3 cells, The Inbox, Weather, Call Log, and by no choice the Ringtone Jukebox. Speaking of Ringtone Jukebox, I found the products on there to be overpriced and I hope you find what you are looking for. I couldn't.

I have not tried the Bluetooth technology yet so I can't comment on that. The headset sold with Jumpkit is nice. It does have open ports so you can hear the outside fairly easily and still enjoy your audio stuff.

The ability to change the case color is nice and I have the Red Face, and a blue back cover, it's shows its colors well.

The external display is a nice feature and I enjoy having the color changed by the phone randomly. Of course you can have it stay solid on one color only.

The Sharing of the USB port for charging and for the headset is not a good feature, as you can not charge your phone and listen using the headset at the same time. You are not able to use the USB port and Jumpkit cable to charge your phone. Yet another bad idea.

And finally, the menuing system for storing contacts needs a bit of work and the voice command will work well in a quiet area but isn't worth the ram when its noisy. If Samsung were to take a bit more time with the programming in the phone, I feel that they would have a solid seller which could appeal to a lot of the younger cell users and maybe a few of the older ones as well.

Overall I rate it an 8 which is great but still needs more improvement to become a solid hit!

"Cool phone, simple to use." on by boriquasuperman

Pros: Styling, thin, lots of features, great to use with bluetooth, amazingly clear speaker phone.

Cons: flat key pad, sometimes it wont show time and date (on the outside) unless you completely exit out of all the menus. needs more battery life

Summary: Cool phone, easy to learn and play with. Love how it works, but sometimes it makes me wish i still had my old Motorola 815e (if you text alot or browse the web, think about it twice if you want to be on the phone later. Oh and forget about axcess tv, it will drain your battery in a minute. I guess i just ask for two much. i would recomend this phone to anybody who just needs a nice phone that does all the basic and a little more,

"Great Phone - Accessories, not so much" on by dlkw

Pros: good sound, easy to use, nice camera

Cons: accessories are a major pain.

Summary: Like the phone alot. Paid full retail (my choice). The Jump Music Kit is $50 and is NOT compatible w/ VISTA. However, the headsets are not for sale separately - so although I cld not use the JumpMusic kit, I had to keep it to have the headphones (because of the new slim USB port) - so I actually ended up paying $50 for a pair of headphones (that leave a lot to be desired.) The mp3 player only recognizes .mp3 format which is pain as most music download sites download in .wma.

So if you have VISTA you will need to also have another Jumpdrive and chip (the 256 that comes w/ the JumpMusic kit only holds about 40 songs) - so that's about another $35.

The faceplates are fun but cost another $25 for 3 faceplates that cost about 18cents a piece to make.

Additionally the USB port is a modified (slim) USB so you will need all new chargers. (got mine on ebay)

All in all - I love the phone - good sound, lots of fun gadgets, nice camera - but the accessories issues has turned it into a huge money pit and I haven't even bought my bluetooth yet.
