Pros Nice large screen, keyboard great for texting
Cons Many for those of us over 50
Summary I like the screen. It is big and colorful and my wife actually prefers to use it to get on the internet over her blackberry. Also, the keyboard makes texting ideal if you do not like using predictive text. I also like the camera. Takes very nice pictures.
I do not like the button on the side that you have to press to unlock the phone. It is hard to ge to. Battery life could be better. Reception is not as good as my razr. When receiving a call, you have to be careful what key you push or you will disconnect the call. Phone is difficult to use whiile driving. They claim that there is a speed dial but actually it involves opening a favorites application, finding the person's number on the screen, then pushing the phone icon(a three step process).
Finding applications and settings is not intuitive and requires reading the manual extensively or thoroughly exploring your phone. Techncuially, I would almost call this phone a basic PDA with a phone application. It is great for texting and getting on the internet, but as a phone it lacks a lot.
Pros Keyboard, screen, widgets, ease-of-use, music player, browser, CV video, easy messaging!, and GPS
Cons screen attracts some smudges, collected some lint in my pocket
Summary SO i got this phone a few days ago and i LOVE IT! Its great. If you need like calendar syncing and stuff like that it prolly wont fufill your needs. But i am a teenager and i want music, internet, video, and TXTING! The keyboard is great! my fingers are kind of fat and i have no issue! Im already typing really fast! The hold switch can be a little funky but i dont have too much of an issue. Love the Bluetooth file sharing from my Mac and i love the simple music [layer. Yes it is simple but it works as well as it needs too. The camera seems great so far, love the customization of camera settings. Love that i can save pictures off the internet.
This is way better than the Xenon! If you have anything but skinny fingers, and you like a nice size touchscreen its worth the extra $100!!!
Pros Love the crisp and clear touchscreen. Hidden keyboard is neat. 3 mega-pixel camera is good. Good sound in speaker mode. Seems durable.
Cons NO Wi-Fi or a standard jack. Unlock button is NOT user friendly.
Summary Good phone for texting. Call quality is very good. I just wish it had Wi-Fi and a Standard jack. AMOLED display is bright, crisp and very clear. If you are going for a AT&T phone, look no further, in my opinion.
Pros great reception, responsive and beautiful AMOLED touch screen, finger-friendly keyboard, massive address book, nice camera features, decent battery life, J2ME enabled
Cons no camera flash, no headphone jack, weird photo/accelerometer feature
Summary this phone performs as advertised, and there are very few negative things i can say about it.
the geek in me loves having the first AMOLED-screen phone in the states (and just looking at the bright colors and dark blacks, i can't wait until the technology becomes affordable on a TV-scale).
the keyboard is amazing. great for anybody who's tired of scrolling through possible words in T9, or trying to hit the right spot on a virtual keyboard with the edge of a thumb. the keys are well-spaced and slightly raised in the center, so there's no question you're on the right button.
samsung's touchwiz interface is pretty intuitive, though i'd like to be able to add my own widgets. at&t's built-in web browser is adequate and works well on mobile-optimized sites, but the first thing i did when i got the phone home was download opera mini (now if only opera would hurry up and make their browser more touch screen friendly).
photo viewing is iphone-like, letting you scroll between photos with a finger swipe. you can also scroll with a phone tilt. this sounds good, but if you don't tilt the phone back to level, your photos will continue to slide by at high speed until the phone levels out or you reach the end of your pics. in the week i've had the phone, i've accidently done this half a dozen times, and there's no way to turn this feature off.
my only other gripes are the lack of camera flash and the lack of headphone jack, but since this is neither my primary camera nor my primary portable music device, the omissions aren't really important.
aside from a few relatively minor negatives, the phone is great. if you're looking for a smartphone, this isn't it, but if you're looking for a nice, easy-to-use messaging and multimedia phone, you can't do much better.
Pros Outstanding touch screen, Loaded with features, Picture quality
Cons It has a learning curve take some time to learn everything but once you get it you can customize it to work best for you.
Summary I recently traded in my LG Vu on this outstanding phone and I am so happy with this purchase. The phone has GPS wiggets for quick applications. Very customizable. Fun easy to use internet. Keyboard a full size man can type on.
