"MAJOR texting glitch; AT&T fails to recognize it." on by danstheman7
Pros: Amazing keyboard, great call quality, fast phone, bright screen, good feeling in your hand. Very easy to use.
Cons: TEXTING GLITCH.
After 31 messages are sent, the phone must be restarted to send any more messages.
I've gotten two of the same phone, and reset them, to no avail.
Also, the screen is a little glossy for my taste, though it's beautiful.Summary: If not for this fatal texting glitch, this would be the best phone I have ever used for the price it is now available at.
Do NOT buy this phone until you are sure that the texting glitch has been resolved; otherwise you will be forced to restart the phone every time you send out 31 messages. -
"Great text-messaging phone with outstanding display." on by jet_emi85
Pros: Big bright display. Roomy QWERTY keyboard. Touch screen works well. Camera has a solid 3 MP. Good features like: GPS Navigator, IM and ATT music and video.
Cons: Not much to complain about the phone except that it takes time to get used to the touch screen navigation.
Summary: If you're looking for a messaging phone with great features, this is the one to get. It is simply solid all around.

"Fantastic Screen and Keyboard...that's about it" on by turbotyper
Pros: Great screen, keyboard, 3G connection, responsive touch screen, intuitive interface
Cons: Terrible software bugs, random restarts, text messaging capacity/layout, proximity sensor
Summary: I really wanted to like this phone. The screen is phenomenal, pictures don't do it justice, you have to see the phone in person, colors are vivid and incredibly bright, although sometimes pixelated. Also, the keyboard is one of the best I've used in a non-smart phone. The touch screen is responsive but can be sensitive and the proximity sensor doesn't work very well. The menu system is clear and functional and if you've used a Samsung before, there shouldn't be any surprises.
All the minor flaws are something you can live with, but the messaging bug really kills the phone. Everytime the phone's messaging system sends a decent number of texts, the phone stops sending all together until you restart the phone. You can minimize the problem by deleting your texts often, but what good is a quick messaging phone if you have to delete your texts all the time? The problem is very common [a quick google search shows its widespread] and Samsung and AT&T seem quiet about the issue [both companies support forums have multiple unanswered posts]
If Samsung were to issue a software update that fixes the problem, I'd gladly recommend this phone, but as of now don't waste your time and money. -
"works great...at first" on by lizizme24
Pros: great features, easy access to internet
Cons: screen froze over & over, touch screen had a mind of it's own
Summary: i loved this phone until 4 months later when the touch screen went haywire & went to applications or messaging when i was trying to do something else. when you open the sliding screen it goes automatically to dial with a '#' on the screen. when i would go to call someone, i would touch the name of the person i was calling only to learn that my phone wanted to call someone 4 people ahead of them! i had to fight with AT&T to receive a new phone. when i did get the phone, the same things as the prior one had. i am so upset with this phone & can not get a new one as i didn't get insurance on it (which i'll admit is my fault) until i renew my contract. long story short....i wouldn't recommend the samsung impression unless you like being frustrated!

"decent phone" on by clnowak
Pros: Not many pros to the phone.
Cons: a lot of cons mainly with texting.
Summary: The phone is decent, but there is a major flaw with many impressions. Every once in awhile the phone will not send text messages, like if you have low or weak signal strength. but if you restart by turning on and off the phone it solves the problem for a few hours, then you have to do it again. so if your an advt texter you may need to do this two or three times a day. Once you turn it on and off, you have to wait a minute or two to get into the message part of the phone. because it initializes after being turned on. Samsung has not released any type of fixes for this problem, but needs to be addressed. if you work through ATT after the 30 days of purchase they will send you a refurbished phone that may have the same problem. In the end if you text a lot stay away.
