"Instinct HD a winner!" on by davidaseaton
Pros: Accelerameter, better screen, better processor(s), better web experience, better, better, better.
Cons: Multi touch would have been nice, but not a deal killer.
Summary: I grow tired of reading reviews of people comparing this phone to the Iphone, or to the HTC Hero (or other Andriod phones), etc. At the end of the day it seems like most people that are dissatisfied with any cell phone are dissatisfied because it is not a real desktop computer, then they are mad because it is not Mac, or Linus, etc. Every phone, laptop, computer, should stand on it's own. If you need open source code get Android or Linux (phone and computer), if you want multi touch get Apple, or Palm or Android. Just find the phone that has the features that you need and judge it based on that. I use digital cameras regularly, but in the absence of my camera the HD is the best choice. In the absence of my computer, the HD's Opera Mobile is great. I can check all of my email accounts, takes pics, take HD videos, and a host of other apps that get me to the information that I need just fine. I guess what I am saying is that for the people out there that are constantly comparing phone to phone, and complaning that one manufacturer is S*** because they don't have all of the features of another phone are usually geeks who need to get a life. If you are spending all of your time downloading apps and using them to do superfluous things like ordering a burrito from Chipotle, or a pizza from Dominos then get the Iphone or an Android phone and be happy. No one is mad at you. If you are looking for a feature phone that is somewhere between a real smart phone and a basic phone that can only be used for phone calls, then the HD is perfect for you. I guess all that I am saying is determine what you need and pick you phone from there. I almost got the HTC Hero, but it falls short from the HD because it does not have flash and it does not have an HD camcorder. And yes to the buttholes out there on the other forums, it is not as good as a dedicated camcorder, but try to contact your camcorder manufacturer and tell them that you can not make phone calls from your camera and see what they say. They will say that it is not a phone, it is a camera. And for the Instinct HD, it is a feature phone. More apps would be great, multi touch would be fantastic, but a good friend of mine just got the Palm Pixi that has multi touch to use the internet, but the screen is small and she could not open the video that I tried to email to her, and the voice text that I sent to her on the same network directed her to dial into the 408 number to hear the message.
So if your are looking for a great phone that has great features, look at the HD. If you are buying a phone to buy a bunch of apps then look as the Iphone or an Android phone. Other than that please don't forget that at the end of the day that the main feature of this thing that you are carrying around is to punch in a number and talk to someone on the other end - oh yeah a phone! -
"Never again" on by jmartinez71
Pros: It looks cool.
Cons: It breaks constantly and needs repaired. The screen freezes a lot.
Summary: Sprint is so aware of this problem that they keep repair parts at the shop so you're in and out in 45 minutes!

"Not all it's cracked up to be" on by dbramaged
Pros: HD Video and the browser is MUCH faster than previous models as well as beats out my friends' Palm Pre's. Easy to use MOST things. Games are clear and quick. Call quality is great.
Cons: Photos are 5MP BUT the quality isn't as great as previously stated. Most pictures are VERY blurry. It's hard to transfer HD videos to computer as there IS NOT A PC SYNC. The phone will disconnect from the computer on its own!!! Music play sucks!
Summary: After haveing several smartphones from HTC, 2 different Palms and the Instinct ant Instinct S30, this phone falls on its face compared to the other phones in the same price range. The video quality is completely amazing, but with continuous blurry photos, this takes out the 5MP camera completely. What are you left with? Just another Instinct! Without a PC SYNC as mentioned in the review above, transferring files is a pain. The phone will show the files for a moment and if you attempt to transfer videos, the phone will remove the files from the "REMOVABLE DRIVE" and will need to be turned off and back on just to work properly. I'm having more disappointing moments than expected. I will be returning the phone for either a Palm Pre (better price point) or HTC Hero (worth the extra money). The phone does not make up for the price as at first glance, you wouldn't know it's any better than the original instinct except the web browser. I would not recommend this phone.

"Fix a few things and this could be a great phone" on by ros2010
Pros: Screen size, photo quality, web browsing is great when it works
Cons: Keyboard can be a pain to use, often have to touch desired option 4 or 5 times (i.e. the block to enter your username or password) in order to get it to work, web browser is slow, some GPS issues
Summary: Potentially a fantastic phone, but the drawbacks I listed above I will be returning it for either a palm pre of a hero. The keyboard posted the wrong letter unless I touched a certain point within the square. Just logging into youtube or yahoo was so trouble (due to my touching the username block and nothing happening) I eventually gave up. On the possibility I do get the blocks to work and I can log in, the web browswer often has problems connecting to the site. GPS thought I was still on neighborhood streets when I was actually on the freeway. I like the concept of a touchscreen phone, and like the screen size which is about twice as big as my blackberry's. But this isn't the phone for me to upgrade to, at least not yet.

"It's so bad, NO ONE'S selling the phone!" on by kamfralala
Pros: Screen size internet speed
Cons: Downloads, keyboard, heats up after talking for more than 20 minutes, battery life, pic quality, split screens, powering on time, no flash player or java, must reboot constantly, screen splits in the middle of texts, shuts itself off
Summary: In a nutshell, this is the worst Samsung I have ever owned. I am seriously considering leaving Sprint over this phone. I have had problems w this phone, literally, from the first day I got it. And since I was 8 days over Sprint's Satisfaction 30 Day Guarantee, they're rufusing to give me a diiferent phone, unless of course I pay full price. I have been into the repair shop 2 x's now (all w/in the same month) and both times they reset the phone, erasing everything I had saved in it. And guess what, IT IS STILL DOING THE SAME EXACT THINGS!!
After reading other users reviews, I think it's pathetic Sprint even opted to carry this phone (it wasn't cheap).. Kind of ironice how Sprint isn't even offering this phone anymore.
