"Could be so great but misses the mark on everything"
onPros Cool looking, somewhat easy to use, nice speakerphone if you can turn it on.
Cons Horrible reception, worse than my girlfriends 2 year old Samsung Blade. Absolutely horrible programming and user interface, innaccurate GPS, tends to lock up for various functions.
Summary First off as a programmer this phone annoys the hell out of me. You can't scroll through numbers without accidentally calling someone. The phone should recognize the right side for scroll and the left side for picking the person to call to prevent it.
Also in things like the setup you can't even tap on the + or - key to change say the screen brightness. You have to hold it down and then it goes from 3 to 5 and you can't get it to 4 easily.
The GPS locks up and when it does it doesn't remember your address you are looking for. So you shut it down and when you go back you are back to retyping the entire thing. Stupid, stupid , stupid!
Then I still haven't figured out how to keep the speakerphone on by default. If I have it on and end a call most likely I am going to want it on for the next call I make. And then the voicemail is exactly the opposite where the speakerphone is on by default.
It's so sad because the phone could be so awesome but someone totally missed the usability mark on this one and for sure it should not have worse reception than phones that are 2 or 3 years old. Even our friends Razr gets better reception. -
"If you want to use this with Outlook for work. Please Read."
on by hertelpPros Speaker Phone and Media Options are Great. Good for students and home makers.
Cons Won't Sync with Outlook on Calendar and Contacts
Summary This phone was noted as Windows OS and Receive email from Microsoft Exchange 2000, 2003, 2007 and Lotus Notes Domino versions 6.0, 6.5 and 7.0 with our latest software update. It says you and sync with Outlook but after a 1 ½ hours with tech support we couldn’t get it to work. They said that even after you sync with Outlook you still won’t sync Calendar or Contacts.
We did get it to sync with my Outlook Web Access but it will only download 25 e-mails. If you look at contacts it shows only 25 contacts and those are only e-mail contacts for all of the e-mail in the inbox. If Spam e-mail is present in the 25 download – then it will create a contact for the Spam e-mail address.
The Instinct will be good for students, and house wives as long as that is the only calendar and contacts they use. If anyone uses Outlook and this phone then they will have to maintain two separate calendars and contacts. The user manual says you can import contacts but doesn't tell how and tech support doesn't know how.
I am returning my Instinct and looking at a different mode. -
"The iphone killer"
on by gb_troutPros great screen, very thin, 2 batteries, awesome interface, even better price, outlook syn over the net
Cons no options on camera, thats about it
Summary i was skeptical hearing all of the hype, but this phone has lived up to it all so far. Battery life is great for a phone with all of the features, played with it essentially all day as well as taking calls and checking mail and still had 40% life (thats great for a touch screen phone.)the ui is very easy to navigate through, and comes with apps that normally are sold separately like gps, and update able news and weather. the camera doesn't really have any adjustable settings but i understand why, they wanted to make it as easy to use as possible. the quality is good for a 2mp camera. and you can't beat the price, from best buy the m-i-r is instant and out the door i only payed 129.95. it also connected seamlessly with my bluetooth headset. i will update in a while with any issues

Summary i've had my phone for not even 2 months and i cant stand it already . all the past phones ive gotten were supposed to be smart phones from samsung .. they dont seem to smart to me . this phone is ridiculously slow . it takes me 5 mins to send a text message ( no exaggeration ). when i want it to do something it does something completely different . i hate this phone bottom line , and my opinion if samsung keep making these stupid phones that are slow , sprint and any other phone service that uses samsung will loose business . it just sucks because it seems like every phone that sprint is starting to have now are samsung phones and im really done with them . i'm fed up . i've never had so many problems with a phone . ive never even knew a phone can make a person as mad as this phone makes me . if you have this phone and just got it i suggest you take advantage of that 30 days you have to return it . trust me , it will be the best thing to do ..
