"Keypad Lock Feature" on by TruthAgent

Pros: Loud Ringer, Great Vib, Cool Features

    Cons: Keypad Lock feature

Summary: The problem is with the keypad lock feature: With the keypad lock feature (on) you can still accidentally press the Power + End button and the phone powers off. The problem is when I get into my car and the phone is in the leather case on my side it is pressing on the center console in my car on the power button and turning the unit off while the keypad is locked. I feel that you should not be able to power the unit off without first unlocking the keypad, being as the keypad lock feature is an option. All keys should be protected except when receiving a call.

I would suggest doing a software update to prevent this from happening.

Those who said it can't be powered off while the keypad is locked are correct....almost. Wha't happening to usere is that it only takes a light touch of the ZERO key for about 1/2 second to unlock the keypad. Then anything can happen including buttdialing. Since the ZERO key is conveniently located at the bottom of the phone and is raised above the edge of the phone it constantly unlocks it's self whether in my pocket or in the case. I tried several beltpack pouches and NONE will prevent unintentional unlocking.

I agree with jmeis982, I have this phone and you absolutely cannot turn the phone off when it is locked. Maybe they have updated the phone since this review was written? No idea, but this isn't an issue any longer.

I've had my Intensity for 4 months and never had a problem with this. I even tried it this morning and wasn't able to get the phone to turn off after it was locked.

    TruthAgent,

Where did you get the software update ? I didn't see it on the Samsung website.

I completely agree with this user. The locking feature on this phone is garbage. Not only does it power off when I have it in a holster and I get into the car, but it also powers off when I have in in my pocket and sit down. Terrible design.
