Sprint's snazzy new slider phone boasts the first 2-megapixel camera in the United States and a host of multimedia goodies, but it's stuck on yesterday's data network.
At first glance, the silver Samsung MM-A800 looks like a thick, candy bar-style phone, albeit one with a massive display.
The Samsung MM-A800 packs a mixed bag of features, including a 500-entry notebook with five numbers per entry; a vibrate mode; text and multimedia messaging; voice commands and dialing; three-way calling; photo caller ID; a one-minute voice memo recorder; a calendar with daily, weekly, and monthly views; a calculator; a world clock; a memo pad; a countdown timer; an alarm clock; and wireless Web via a WAP 2.
Call quality on the Samsung MM-A800 (CDMA 800/1900; AMPS 800; 1xRTT) was good; in CNET Labs' tests in New York City, our callers said they could hear us loud and clear, and we had no trouble hearing our pals.
