"A big software upgrade over regular A900" on by Edliv

Pros: Thin, Powervision, Full Bluetooth Compatibility, Ability to learn words for T9

Cons: Poor Battery life, Phones menus are slow, especially through phonebook

Summary: I got A900M as a replacement for my A900. This phone has a different finish that the original, now it has a matte more scratch resistant exterior. All the bluetooth issues with the original A900 have now been corrected including not being able to bring up phonebook, end calls and phantom ringing issues. And now during T9 text messages it brings a list of word choices, and it has the option to learn new words. I dont care for the new themes options, but this phone is basically a big software big with some added functionality in a better finish. battery life is still horrible. But sound quality is superb and browsing the internet is really fast using the EVDO network.

"Great hardware, clunky software" on by fordag

Pros: Easy to hold, more comfortable in hand than Razr, great screen, clear crisp sound

Cons: Interface very clunky, bluetooth on two seperate menu items

Summary: I went through a couple of Motorola Razr V3ms that kept dying before getting this phone a couple of weeks ago. The phone is more comfortable in the hand than the Razr and the side buttons are easier to use and feel solid, the Razr side buttons always seemed ready to fall out of the phone.

The camera on the Samsung also takes better quality photos than the Razr. The sound is crisp and clear, from ringer to voice communications.

The speakerphone is tricky to get to and bluetooth requires that you go through two seperate menus to activate it, very innefficient and no reason for it.

The phone is hyped as very customizable, but it's not really, it's no more customizable than other phones. In some ways less. For example you can't change the time or date format.

Text is odd on the phone very different sizes in different applications. Text messaging is one size (too big), menus another (again too big) dialing has three font sizes, not bad, web has one font (tiny). Obviously for those with less than perfect eyesight will like the areas with large type but they will hate the tiny type of the internet. I simply don't appreciate not being able to change the type size anywhere other than the dialing font.

Overall it's a better phone than the Razr (it works) They quality of voice calls is very good and I get a much stronger signal with this phone than with my old Sanyo 8300. The interface beyond phone use could use some work though.

"GREAT Featured and Usable Phone" on by developdaly

Pros: thin, light, big screen, speakerphone, fast internet, SMS, VoiceSMS, camera, video camera, colorful, sleek, sturdy

Cons: To charge you have to remove a flap that inhibits you from laying the phone flat (annoying when using as an alarm).

Summary: I love this phone. It's got the thin(ness) that the RAZR has, but the software is incredibly better than the RAZR's. Beautiful phone.

"Very Disappointed. Bluetooth operation is spotty" on by triplew3

Pros: Size, variety of functions, camera

Cons: Bluetooth for ear piece is weak. Phone resets for no reason. Phone operates erratically when there are missed alerts.

Summary: My wife and I both have the Samsung A900M phones and are very disappointed in their performance. Both phones repeatedly lose Bluetooth connection to our earpiece and have unclear reception when the phone is more than 2 feet from the earpiece. Both phones periodically lose all battery life within 4 hours of a full charge. The phones also reboot and freeze (requiring battery removal to reset) due to Bluetooth earpiece connection or disconnection. Missed alerts create makes it operate slow and inconsistently. Today, my phone started mysteriously heating up which caused me to remove the batter for fear that it might blow up.

Repeated visits to the Sprint service stores yield only phone replacements with another phone that has the same problems and that is after waiting 30 minutes or more to see a service tech. I even showed them video of these malfunctions. Having the Sprint service plan does not help when they keep giving you the same bad phone.

"Horrible reception and battery life" on by Still Feel Gone

    Pros: Compact Size

Cons: Battery Life and Reception are beyond bad

Summary: I've had this phone for almost a year now and am changing carries becuase I cannot get a refund or new phone from Sprint. My battery lasts 10 hours at most (that's NOT talk time). On top of that, the reception is absolutly horrible. Other folks with sprint phones can stand right next to and get multiple bars when I'm on roam. This is partly resonsible for horrible battery life. Sprint refuses to refund despite the fact that the phone is obviously flawed.

If you don't mind a battery that doesn't last and a phone that doesn't get reception, The A900 is great.. nice sleak design and great features.
