    "Not happy with Samsung" on by iulamf

    Pros: good looks, works good

    Cons: Unable to download ringers or pictures with any third party downloaders. hard to customize your phone

    Summary: Just got off phone with Samsung about server error that is received when I have tried to download to my phone. These applications are not supported. On a new phone? I have always bought Samsung phones but I think this is the end of the line. I was told that there isn't a fix for it at all. I just upgraded and my old phone supported ringers and pictures from myxer and uploaders. Bottom-line is if you like to use any of these third party sites to customize you phone don't get the Rant! Mine will be going back to the store!

    wow. just go to tools and update phone, update the firmware and then the myxer ringers work i do it all the ttime. i love my rant all of its features are good, just you have to update your phone then it works fine.

    As of November 26, an update has been made available to fix this problem, and now 3rd-party downloads do indeed work.

    I read this review before I purchased the phone but I bought it anyway because the Rant appeared to be exactly what I wanted in a phone. Beautiful color, great features but it's true I am unable to download ringtones from third party sites. I've called both Sprint and Samsung myself TWICE and a Best Buy customer service employee was more willing to help me then any of the other reps I spoke to. Unfortunatley, he was unable to help. I see that this is a major issue with this phone, at least for me and I will be returning it. Once all the kinks are worked out maybe i'll buy it again. OH WELL
