Pros: After the Exclaim and then the Instinct S30 I found the perfect phone. Small enough to hold comfortably and not too heavy. Battery life is long as well. Easy to use andd find my way around the various task options. Texting is easy. Terrific phone.
Cons: some of my old screensavers and ringers don't adapt to the Reclaim.
Summary: I have always liked Samsung phones. I did my homework on this purchase. I wanted ease of use and especially ease of texting. I looked at touch screens to Blackberry. Thank goodness for 30 day exchange policies. The Exclaim's keyboard was too hard to reach the first row of keys because they were too close to the slider. the Instinct S30 was beyond me. This little Green Bomb is truly good and fun.

Pros: I like the color and the concept, the MP3 player works well and is user friendly. The display colors are vibrant and clear. The one touch feature was probably the best thing about it. Slide is nice.
Cons: The screen is pretty big but videos only play on about a 4th of it in the center. Shooting videos sucks because they come out grainy and have no audio if you send them to friends or Facebook. Little or no 3rd party games or anything else.
Summary: This is a great idea, but overall disappointing result. There are few if any 3rd party games or apps supporting this phone, so no Thumbplay, no Ventones, barely any stuff in the Sprint store. During browsing or making calls the phone would randomly crash and reboot. The keypad looks good and illuminates well, but is one large plastic piece not individual buttons so texting or anything is slow and full of errors. The fact that the screen is so large but rarely fully used is a real irritation to me as it was one of the primary selling points for me. Seriously, if you have a screen that is like 3 inches wide, why is the video player an inch wide? No voice commands, no MP3 used for ringers. Camera is ok as long as the light is good and you are really still, there is no zoom so close up photos are crap. There is some clever editing software on the phone for picture color and image manipulation. The GPS is OK once its up and running, but the input interface is HORRIBLE. If the text box is obviously going to be a number (like a zip code or phone number) why should I have to hit the ALT key for each keystroke?
That really is the bulk of the problem, the user interfaces SUCK on every part of this phone. Browser, text messages, picture messages, whatever, they are all poor quality and counter-intuitive.
After 2 months I called Sprint and made a threat to switch carriers if they didnt give me another phone. Now I have the Curve 8330 and like it much better. -

Pros: It's very light and the price is great! The fact that the majority of the phone is made out of recycled materials is pretty neat as well!
Cons: After a month of having the phone it turned itself off and tried to reboot, but it would keep turning off instead. So I got a new one a month ago, and tonight it started doing THE SAME THING.
Summary: I would not suggest this phone. It's great the price and all, but spend the extra money to get a phone that is actually going to work after a month....

Pros: A mid-tier environmentally conscious phone that meets the basic requirements of text messaging, social networking, and web-focused apps. Overall usability is excellent and it seems pretty robust. The battery life is also excellent.
Cons: Minimal customization. I haven't figured out if you can install custom applications. Custom content is managed through Sprint's "My Stuff" which complicates things like custom ringtones and "screensavers" (aka, background image).
Summary: I?ve been using a Motorola Razr for the past 3 years and I?ve been less than satisfied. My former employer provided me with a Samsung Blackjack running Windows Mobile, so I had no reason to upgrade my personal phone. When I was laid off in June, I had to give up my Blackjack.
Based on my experiences with both the Razr and the Blackjack, I created a list of features I wanted in my new phone (in order of importance):
1. Qwerty keyboard
2. Text messaging and social networking focus
3. GPS / Google maps
4. Web browsing at least as good as the Blackjack running Windows Mobile
Deal-breaking features: Decent battery life and responsive OS (minimal lag/slowness).
I originally considered the Palm Pre because it covered most of those things and a lot more. I hesitated because of the battery life issue. I didn?t feel the price of the Palm was worth it because of the battery life issue and because it?s a 1.0 piece of hardware. Furthermore, I don?t need all the bells an whistles the Pre has to offer. While it?s ?cool? it?s not worth the price tag to me when there are mid-tier phones that can fit my needs. Finally, I would have to change my current plan to accommodate the Pre.
I saw an advertisement on Instructables for the Samsung Reclaim. I had never heard of this phone nor seen it before, so I started reading about it. The Samsung Reclaim?s plastic casing is made from corn-based bio-plastic material (40%) and Sprint claims the phone is overall made from 80% recycled materials. I was under the impression that meant the phone also had parts made from recycled plastic, but they may be counting the packaging. I checked on both the Sprint and Samsung websites and I was unable to find a whitepaper outlining exactly what the recycled content of the phone is. Regardless, I liked the look of the phone and I like the direction Sprint is going with it?s eco-conscious image.
I went to the Sprint store to try the phone out and I was pleased. The Samsung Reclaim comes in both a bright green and a bright blue. Both are great colors, however I liked the green better. I wanted to test the QWERTY keyboard for usability and although small, it is very accurate. I have small fingers and am comfortable with small buttons. The phone slides out easily and I can hold it without accidentally pressing any other buttons (unlike the Razr). Because I felt the phone meets my basic requirements, I purchased the Samsung Reclaim.
The OS is Sprint?s own operating system that is similar to the Pre?s WebOS in look and feel. The button navigation and labels are similar to my Razr so I could easily figure out how to move around. Other aspects had the same labels and organization as the Blackjack so things I had figured out there also applied to this phone. I haven?t read the manual yet and already I?ve changed my screen pattern and ringtones, set up twitter and facebook, set up email and instant messaging, updated my contacts using bluetooth from my old phone, set up Google applications, taken photos including a panoramic, made phone calls, and sent text messages. For me, this phone is super easy to use.
While the Reclaim is not a smartphone like the Pre (in fact Gizmodo coined the term ?dumbphone?), the Reclaim has enough applications and features to sufficiently meet my requirements. The up front cost was $100 plus tax and the mail-in rebate takes 6-8 weeks to process. I am very pleased with this phone and will write a further update on my blog once I?ve used it awhile to discuss how well it does at meeting the requirements I?ve listed above.

Pros: not one! this phone is what sprint replaced my water damaged phone with. sprint insurance is horrble as it is, then they cant even replace my rumor2 with the same thing! they send me this piece o'junk hoping i will spend more money on an upgraded model...

Summary: JUNK phone, buttons dont work, screen is horrible, features are non existent.....etc. etc. etc.
