"Good phone, bad service"
Pros: lots of good features
Cons: Wouldn't work when I went overseas; abysmal customer service
Summary: Has all the features I wanted in a global phone. Too bad it wouldn't work when I tried using it overseas. Had to call Verizon via a credit card call...was told there was a network problem and a trouble report would be submitted and I would be called back. No call back. And after I got back in CONUS and called to check on the trouble report...was told no trouble report had been submitted. Was told to call back if I have trouble the next time I'm overseas. I bought this global phone for business, and I don't knonw if it'll work the next time I need to use it overseas.

I bought this phone to stay in touch in Europe and save money on calls and it did both very well. I took this phone to Italy and Switzerland and it worked perfectly. Switching from CDMA to GSM was a breeze. 3 times the battery life of my previous phone. We were a party of 8 and stayed in touch constantly. It was cheaper than using calling cards. My bill was only $240 for 120 min of talk time over 2 weeks, last time it was over $300 using Verizon calling cards on public and hotel phones for less than 30 min total talk time. 2 other couples rented their phones and the bills were $450 and $700 for the same usage. this phone paid for itself. It recieved calls ok from other land and cell phones in Italy , USA and Switerland. I had trouble calling phones in the USA with caller ID. I called the Verizon FREE help number programed in the phone and they said they were working on that problem and text messaging as well. The agent put the 2 calls through for me. The camera keeps taking pictures in my pocket, this feature should be able to be turned off. The dispaly is beautiful but don't take it outside in bright light, very anoying to answer or make calls when you can't see the display. You only see your reflection. You can't use any functions including using the phonebook . The pictures should be able to be down loaded from the phone with a USB cord, not e-mailed for a charge. A speaker phone option would be great also.
