Pros The phone only costs $9.99 at Best Buy, is small, light weight and easy to use.
Cons Typing texts is a little sluggish.
Summary I like this phone, it fits my needs as I only use a cell phone occasionally for some calling and texting. The previous reviewer stated that the ringer and volume were low but if you play around with your phone, you will find the controls to adust those, actually I changed the ringer to volume 7 which is the loudest and I had to turn it down as it was too loud. Also if you are having a hard time hearing the person on the other end, you can adjust the volume using the navigation during your call, just hit the top and it will increase in volume, I had no trouble hearing my caller. I like that it's cheap, small and easy to use.
Pros HOW'S ONLY $100 A YEAR, NO CONTRACT, FOR A PLUS? THAT'S THE (UNADVERTISED) SERVICE PLAN I GOT FROM AT&T.. A FRIEND TOLD ME ABOUT IT, SO IT'S NOT LIKELY YOU'LL HEAR THIS ANYWHERE ELSE. O.K., I DON'T USE ALL THE TECHIE STUFF. I HAVE A PHONE FOR WHAT MA
Cons THE GRAPHICS AREN'T BRILLIANT AND THE SOUND ISN'T PRO-LOGIC OR DOLBY SURROUND.
Summary I USE THIS AS A PHONE. IT HAS EVERYTHING I NEED FOR THE PURPOSE OF VERBAL COMMUNICATION.
THERE'S NO SET UP FEES; NO ROAMING FEES; NO INCOMING TEXT FEES - ( YOU CAN BLOCK THEM); BOTTOM LINE - ABSOLUTELY NO UNEXPECTED ADDITIONAL FEES - EVER! ! ! !
IF YOU'RE LIKE ME, TIRED OF ALL THE UNANTICIPATED HIDDEN FEES, RESULTING IN EXUBERANT PHONE BILLS, THEN THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED.
IT'S VERITABLE CELL PHONE SALVATION!
JUST CALL 800-331-0500 AND SELECT 'more info' THEN TALK TO A LIVE REP. AND ASK FOR THE $100 A YEAR GO-PHONE.
EVEN IF YOU RUN OUT OF MINUTES, THEY ONLY COST $.10 A MINUTE TO LOAD MORE!
IF YOU STILL WANT TO TEXT AND SEARCH THE WEB - YOU CAN, BUT THAT WILL USE UP MINUTES REALLY FAST @ $.25 EACH.
SO, YOU HAVE THE OPTIONS AVAILABLE, BUT YOU ONLY PAY FOR THEM IF AND WHEN YOU ACTUALLY USE THEM.
TO ME, THAT'S THEY WAY IT SHOULD BE. NO WASTE, NO SURPRISES WHEN YOU GET YOUR BILL - - - IN FACT YOU NEVER GET A BILL!
WHEN YOUR ALLOCATED MINUTES ARE ABOUT TO EXPIRE, THEY NOTIFY YOU BEFORE HAND. THEN YOU DECIDE TO BUY MORE OR DISCONTINUE.
WORST CASE SCENARIO, YOU THROW AWAY A PHONE THAT COST YOU A MERE FRACTION OF WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE SPENT ELSEWHERE WITH ANY OTHER SO-CALLED 'cheap' CELL PHONE PLAN!
DO THE MATH AND THEN DO THE SENSIBLE THING - - - GET THIS GREAT PHONE DEAL BEFORE THEY DON'T OFFER IT ANY MORE.
IT'S ALREADY A SECRET, THEY DON'T ADVERTISE IT. IF YOU DIDN'T READ THIS, YOU PROBABLY WOULD NEVER EVEN KNOW ABOUT IT.
SO WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO LOSE? BETTER YET, THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU COULD LIKELY GAIN - - - SEVERAL HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS EVERY MONTH SAVINGS, BY NOT SUBSCRIBING TO A MORE EXPENSIVE PLAN THAT OFFERS ALL THE 'bells & whistles'.
Pros This is small functional phone for those who do not want all the bells and whistles the other outrageously over-priced phones have. When going to the bottom of the barrel high definition graphics are not expected.
Cons There is no denying since the split-up AT&T is the worse phone service in the world (even 3rd world carriers are better). Their web site is the ultimate in user unfriendly. But this goPhone gives me a second line for low cost. I like Samsung phones.
Summary Cheap, cheap, cheap and I like it that way. Beware the fine print--everything costs with goPhone. Pay-as-you go is a reasonable way to control cell expenses. If people would stop buying the over-priced phones, they'd be $39.95 like they should be. High value for low cost. Not an entertainment center, this a basic phone with only what you need. Use it until it breaks and the options to replace it will be nicer then... A throw away cell phone for sure.
Pros Flip to Answer (Menu> Settings> Calls> General> Answer Mode), Great sound. Adjust during call if needed by Up/Down Navigation Key. Time / Date /DayOfWeek / ReceptionStrength / BatteryLife scree. Address book has both Home and cell number easy
Cons None at all if you want great cell phone for talk use. Tad over $8 a month. Does everything talk wise you could ever possibly want.
If you Text, Web Surf, Game Play, etc, then this is not the phone for use, get yourself a iPhone and pay the $150.
Summary A few years back when cell phones were used just for talk, this nice little phone would have cost you about $350 upgrade because it is not bulky or heavy. It would have been a gadget phone then. Battery life is great also. Comes with home charger but you'll need to go to Amazon to get you a car charger(CAD300SBEB/STD)for $3 and if you like you can even get a spare battery (AB463446BA) for $3 while you're paying the $5-6 freight to get it delivered. My wife and I can both have this phone and cost is $100 each per year for use. Our former best priced Senior plan was $360 for just one phone. So we both can go out and have access to cell phone and almost cut our annual bill in half with double the phones. We love these phones much better than contract plan phones as these are much easier to use for Talk purposes without all the gadgets to get in the way and the battery life is much better as another plus. We so wish we'd got over our fear of trying these earlier. Lesson learned. Highly recommend for anyone that wants a great Talk Phone that would also enjoy the savings along with the security.
Pros Saves lots of money
Cons Not a fan of AT&T
Summary To sum this up, in my experience, Samsung phones are the best and the best prepaid service is definitely Tracfone. The savings are incredible along with it's coverage. Samsung phones on the Tracfone service make awesome gifts (thats how I received mine). Prepaid just offers so much, too good of a deal to pass up :)
