  • "Good messaging phone and voice phone"
    on by BombSniffingDog

Pros Great design and look. The colors, material, and overall thin but quality feel are pleasantly surprising. Good call quality. Good texting, IM, functionality. Shortcut keys are built in, for IM, locking, and silent mode.

Cons The keys ARE slightly more cramped than some phones. The camera is surprisingly outdated (for current standards) the left direction button cannot be reprogrammed. Ringtones and system sounds are limited.

Summary Overall, I'm impressed with this phone. The keys are a bit of an issue, people tend to either like them, or they hate them. They are angled in a unique position to allow for your fingers to press them from either directly above or from an angle.

The keys are also just slightly stiffer than I prefer. But then again, many people like the actual tactile sensation of the (slightly) audible "click" of a button.

The directional pad is actually one of my favorites of any phone. For some reason the layout and design of the buttons are exactly perfect. Samsung typically does a good job with that.

As mentioned, the camera is weak. I would have liked to see a camera that could at least take respectable pictures that could at least be printed into 4"x6" photos. But at least there IS a camera.

I was surprised with the overall excellent call quality. I don't know but lately I've had phones that fair MUCH worse that are far more expensive. Not only is the reception quite good on this phone (compared to other phones in the SAME spot and SAME carrier) the voice quality is very distinctly clear.

The one thing is, like many phones today, it no longer comes with it's own handsfree headset. I guess the implication is that you'd go out and get a bluetooth headset. But I prefer the wired set many times, b/c they are easier to use and many times clearer for the other person to hear me.

I'm also slightly disturbed by the weak selection of ringtones and system alert sounds. The noises are not very appealing nor is there a good selection. You only have 4 sounds to choose from to alert you of txt messages for instance.

The functionality of the phone's operating system is uncomplicated and snappy. Many of the menus are well placed and respond quickly as they should. I like the fact that messenging is easy to use. IM support for AIM, Windows Live, and Yahoo. And it also has mobile email support built in that works great.

The screen isn't awesome, but it's large enough, and bright enough, and has enough resolution to be respectable. It exceeded my expectations actually, i thought for a phone this price it might be a bit more low resolution, but it is actually quite sharp.

I got this phone at radio shack, on sale for only $60... but then i learned that radio shack essentially forces at least $15 GO minutes on you. They won't let you go in and buy a phone off the rack (although they SHOULD in my opinion). So the price really came out to be $75 which isn't a bad price for a phone with full qwerty keypad!

  • "this phone is crap, bluetooth sux n alot of bugs"
    on by cthulhufury

Pros it looks nice, lightweitght, easy for textin

Cons no memory card, bluetooth cant transfer crap, phone turns off when you use it alot and camera defintly sux, most phone have at least 1 megapixel..dis one got 0.3...and it more expensive than other better phones

Summary i dont recomend this phone to anyone, too many bugs

  • "great phone and great price!!!"
    on by Nae83

Pros texting is great. light weight and slim

Cons taking a little longer to figure all the controls

Summary this phone is a great phone its such a step up from the phone I had before. not all that fancy but i wasnt looking for a fancy phone. the only problem I keep having is how to change the middle button from conecting to the internet i haven't figured out how to change it (but then again ive only had it for one day) with time i know i will figure it out. this phone has the apperence to be high tech but its pretty simple. I recomend it to anyone who wants something sleek affordable and easy.

  • "This was a really bad phone and it makes me sad :("
    on by missp137

Pros Pros: It's really simple to use.

Cons There are SO many cons. The keys are WAY too loud and way too small. The camera SUCKS and the features are really annoying. It constantly dropped calls or said that the "network rejected" the call when I called the person maybe three minutes previously. I

Summary Overall, this phone sucks. Save your money.

  • "Good phone, mostly good reception, keybd keys too small."
    on by midi73

Pros Easy to use with good features. Easily connected to bluetooth (despite other review mine worked fine). Screen easy to read, large numbers when dialing.

Cons QWERTY keyboard keys are hard to manage. They are at an angle and you have to use a fingernail to get just the right angle. My husband can't hardly use it at all. The phone connects to the MediaMall way too easily by accident. No way to turn off.

Summary Good phone. Basic and easy to use. Software is available from Samsung to connect phone to computer so you can download your data and pics. Need a data/usb cord available from Samsung. Pictures pretty good quality. It took me awhile to get used to keyboard feel but I'm okay now although it would be the one thing I would change on the design of the phone. Phone has no expander card. Only the onboard memory.
