"Slim - yes, but that is it." on by Taller25
Pros: Slim, 3G, Large Screen, Easy ring volume access
Cons: NO tactile feedback on keyboard, slippery shape, hard to open, Texting
Summary: This phone is slim, but that is all it offers design wise. The keyboard is basically a flat piece of metal (like the Razr), but there is very little tactile feedback to tell you where you are touching (like when driving and not looking). I noticed that I frequently dial the wrong number. Plus the shape is real sleak, but for some reason the thing is very hard to get out of your pocket and open ... the slim design offers no traction or edges to grip. One hand opening is almost impossible. I love the concept of a simple text only external screen, but this one is hard to read in daylight. And it does not constantly show the clock... you have to click and hold the side button to get the clock to display.
User interface is terrible too... for example, sending a text message involves many more steps then it should. Plus the system does not learn your frequently used words and auto complete. But it seems that every task involves more key strokes then it should. And everything involves a confirmation click - what is this, Windoze?
The 3G network is great tho! Very fast. Calls and text messages send and receive instantly. Google Maps is a lifesaver and easy to use with a fast network. The screen and camera are nice, bright and hi res.
Bottom line... I was all *yawn* upon receiving this phone. Whereas, when I got my first Razr - it was a life changing event. The design of this phone inspires nothing. The OS is too complex (but it looks nice), and the keyboard is impossible to feel your way around. I basically cannot wait to get a new phone.... already.
