    "Synchronizing PIM Data NOT POSSIBLE(YET!)"

by radiokbc on April 17, 2005

Pros: 1.3m, pop email, edge, not big in size compared to having a lot of features, beautiful resolution of screen, transfering sound, video files.

Cons: CANNOT SYNC CONTACTS, SCHEDULES(YET) WITH PC. NO VIDEO RECORDING AT OVER 320X240.

    Summary: CONS:

I bought SGH-P777 mobile phone a few days ago since it has the capability to sync PIM(contacts, To-Do-Lists, etc) with PCs.

The manual also says that it can sync with PCs. It even came with a USB cable and a small program called Easy Studio II. The program, however, can only manage picture and video files, not PIM data.

In the manual, under Section 10:Personal Assistant, there is a separate part named, "Synchronizing PIM Data." It says, "You can syncronize personal information stored in the Address Book, Calenda, or To Do List menu with corresponding PC applications by using 'the program' supplied with your phone."

I couldn't sync PIM data with the data kit you provided. I tried many times to sync, even with third party sync programs. I failed everytime.

    And, another thing:
I cannot record video at 320X240 or 352X288. They are gray and I cannot choose. I'm only able to record at 176X144 or 128X96.

PROS: 1.3m, pop email, edge, not big in size compared to having a lot of features, beautiful resolution of screen, etc.

Go to a uk samsung website and download easystudio II or EasyGPRS. Play with the com port on the menu and it will work with your usb cable too.

Any mp3 files can be transfered to ringtones using the original software supplied by Samsung.

This is indeed a perfect phone!

So after I upload a MP3 song to my phone, how exactly do I set it as my ring tone? There is no option for that...

Could you please be more specific as to what steps to take. I am struggling with my sgh-p777 right now. I visited the samsung uk website and could not find easystudio or easygprs. I have the disk for easystudio as provided with my phone. The problem is the pc does not recognize the phone through the usb port at all so I cannot download or upload. Please help.
