"Good size and screen, nice color, everthing else sucks!"1.5 starson by Rob10
Pros: The phone has decent size, slightly raised buttons, fits my hand well and flips open easily, nice blue color, call quality is decent, ring-and-vibrate mode.
Cons: Poor battery life for a basic phone, shuts itself off randomly (***??), sometimes gives no bars of service until the phone is powercycled (again, ***??), not really customizable, as other's have mentioned),
Summary: The Samsung T259 is a nice looking phone with good sized call strength and battery, etc. icons, much better than my other pa-as-you-go LG model. I can set it to vibrate AND ring, which is a must for me.
However, the party's over after that. For starters, you can't really customize it, like making one of the soft buttons bring up your Contacts list. The battery life is 20% less than the lousy LG phone I had. The two things that are total deal breakers are the phone just shuts itself off every day, even with a full charge. My wife will call me on my land line and ask why I'm not picking up, and I pull the phone out to find it's off. I sent it in under warranty and the new one is exactly the same. Also, as others have said, I get a LOT of spam calls and texts, though lately the frequency has dropped off (thankfully)
Now, the signal strength goes to no bars until turn it off and back on. My friends laugh at me and wonder why I put up with it. The problem is T-Mobile's choice for basic flip phones is terrible, and this phone is marginally better than the LG I had previously. I may try replacing the battery and see if that helps, but if not, I'm dropping it in the toilet, on purpose.
