Summary: Cnet Editor, shame on you! By the time Cnet reviewed this phone there were already 6 reviews from people that have owned and used the phone. EVERY review was 8 or higher with the exception of one. Cnet editor Kent German puts down the keypad. I was amazed that the well researched raised and uniquely shaped numbers were perfect for my big fingers. The 1.3 camera with Auto light function was not even mentioned in the Cnet editors comments. This editor left out so much it makes me wonder if he even used the phone. If you are considering this phone I would go with what the people say on this one. Even other opinion sites rate this phone higher. I have had mobile phones since the Analog car phone was released to the public and a hand held was considered a 30 pound battery pack you would sling over your shoulder. I read how Cnet is suppose to rate phones and I strongly believe this this editors opinion missed the ballpark by 7 off ramps. GO WITH THE PEOPLES OPINIONS ON THIS PHONE. IT'S AWESOME, CLEAN, SMART LOOKING, PACKED WITH FEATURES AND HAS ALL THE HIGH TECH FEATURES BEING OFFERED FOR PHONES 4 TIMES ITS COST. OH CNET YOU MISSED THE MARK ON THIS PHONE. Maybe there is a reason the people that actually own the phone and use it daily rated it so high. I highly recommend the phone and the awesome wireless capability it offers with the free software you can get from the Samsung site.

Summary: My last phone was a Samsung t509. And while that was a beauty, it was not very good in reception, and I had all but given up on finding a good phone until I came across this Samsung t619.
I love the fact that it has a quad band, the sound quality is great, no reception problems, and the keys are easy to manage. This phone is thin and light, I get a lot of compliments on it.
The camera included is also very nifty, I can zoom in and out, can change the brightness without the tedious process of changing settings. The pictures don't turn out all fuzzy and horrible.
I do not use the mp3 player that is incorporated, because, honestly, I have an ipod for playing music.
My only complaints is that the vibrator is not as strong as I would like, and that the joints of the flip phone, for me anyways, wiggle a little. But there is nothing wrong with how it flips.
Overall, I am more than satisfied with this phone. I recommend others to give it a try. -

Pros: Thin and Lightweight
Cons: Battery life and too many clicks to do certain tasks
Summary: I upgraded from my Motorola V180 to this camera phone because I upgraded my plan to have the myfaves feature. My review is a little comparison to my old phone considering this is my first Samsung phone.
Appearance- Thin and lightweight. Keypad is big and easy to press. You won't be able to change menu screen.
Battery- It charges quickly, but it also drains quickly. Maybe it's because it's due to me playing around with the camera.
Call Quality- Clear calls.
Camera/Video- My first camera phone, and I have to say that it's pretty decent. I still have to figure out all the camera settings. When I transferred them to my computer it came out a little dark. Not too sure if this happens to all camera phones. There is no flash, but you can use the nighttime mode. Video playback is decent too.
Games- There are four games. Forgotten Warrior, Freekick, Arch Angel, and Midnight Pool. I don't use them.
LCD- Very bright screen. Light will dim and turn off after a minute of idle time. Outter screen light will not be on when phone is closed. If you want to see the time without opening the phone, you need to press one of the side volume buttons for 2 seconds.
Music/Video player- I don't use it, but there is one downloaded video that came with it. It doesn't have a memory card slot so I don't think you'd be able to save a lot of files if you're into that kind of stuff.
Phonebook- Customized ringtones for callers must be saved to phone. A number that is saved to phone and SIM will have double entries. Lots of extra spaces to put email address, work #, picture ID, etc. under one name.
Sounds- Vibration and silence mode can be turned on by pressing just one button. My old phones used to ring and vibrate at the same time whereas this pyhone will only vibrate first and then ring. Speakerphone is soft though, and you have to click twice just to turn it on.
TXT/IM- I hate using T9 form, and unfortunately it's the default setting and you won't be able to change it. It's very tedious to make 3 clicks to put it in normal mode everytime I create a message.
Voice Dial- I do not use it.
Other- Downloading files is very quick. Sometimes there is too many clicks just to do a task like deleting a file or message. Transferring personal made ringtones from computer to phone can only be saved as an alarm tone. It was also disappointing that I had to buy more ringtones and games for my phone as the SIM did not transfer my files from my old phone. It has a stopwatch, timer, unit conversion, and tip calculater that my other phones lacked. You can set the calendar on the front of the screen if you want to.
If you like a basic camera phone, then this is good for you. To me the pros outweighs the cons so I'll be sticking with it. -

Summary: It seems that the recent emphasis on cell phone performance and desirablity is based upon multimedia capability and appearance rather than upon a phone's primary purpose as a communications device. For myself, I find the SGH-T619 rather ideal for several reasons. First, it has a very small profile when closed, allowing it to be carried without an obtrusive bulge in my pocket. The clam shell design is also good for someone like myself who usually forgets that he has car keys in the pocket, someone who would quickly have a scratched up screen on a 'candy bar' type phone. It is very light weight, surprisingly so in my opinion.
The call quality was up to par with any digital phone I have ever used, and the blue tooth had no problems at all syncing with my Motorola headset.
As far multimedia capabilities are concerned, the camera is quite nice and takes adequate pictures. I haven't tried the music playing capablities as of yet, and to be honest, I probably won't. I have a Creative Zen Vision M, which I use for my entertainment. If I wanted music, there are plenty of other options, which consequently cost significantly more money.
This phone has real buttons which light up very nicely and evenly. They are easy to use, and I haven't mis-dialed a number using them.
The display is bright, colorful and has high resolution; it is a delight to use.
One thing I particularly like about this design is that it feels well balanced in my hand when I use it. Since it is a flip phone, it is longer when opened than many other phones out there which means the microphone isn't up in my beard scratching away, but rather closer to my mouth. And once again, since it's a flip phone, when it's closed, it's shorter than many phones, which is nice when it has to share space in my pocket with all the other stuff I have to lug around. And even when it's closed, it is extremely thin and barely noticable.
I have to say that this is my favorite phone that I have ever used. But I bought it becuase it had the feature set that I was looking for, so it may not be for everyone.
I don't text message, and I don't use this phone for entertainment. I also use a Palm organizer, so I didn't require an organizer. What I did need was a nice phone that would last for a while, and this one seems to fit the bill.
As for the design and appearance, it certainly isn't a phone that will embarass you, though it's not as trendy as the pebl or razr. I think there's some compromises for the sake of fashion in many phones, but this one does not present any. It's pretty straight forward and functions as designed. And for me, it's more important that the phone feels right against my face and in my hand than how it looks. Another aspect of this design I appreciate is the lack on an external antenna, which contributes to the sleek overall design.
I suppose that I've outgrown the whole infatuation with the ooohs and ahhhs of the newest phone technology; I simply never look at other peoples' phones and I don't expect to make a fashion statement with mine. In my opinion, I think that this phone would certainly suit anyone looking for a nice phone without all the unnecessary bells and whistles. Sure, it would be nice to have a phone with a removable memory card, but I'm not going to find one at the price of the 619, and to me, I'd rather spend the extra money putting music on my music player than on my phone.
The users manuals are very thorough and explain all the features very well. They come in english and spanish. This phone is very easy to use though, and anyone who has used a recent cell phone will have no problems setting up this phone and taking advantage of its features, though the manuals are there for those who may not be as tech savvy.
So in summary this is a great phone, and I personally think it deserves a much higher rating than it was given. I suppose if it had more music capablility and quadruple the price, it would be one of CNET's favorites. But for what it does, as described by the product information, it does well. And personally, I love its style and functionality. -

Summary: CNET review was really poor. They said the keypad was slippery? Maybe they shouldnt review a phone after eating lunch and not washing thier hands.
Everything this phone does, it does well. Great sound, really clear and good pictures(best that i have seen by a phone), great samsung quality and a fair price. Also has a cool, sleek two tone look to its external appearance, is very slim and lightweight.
The phone is very user friendly, works great and other then the lousy factory ringtone choices, I have no complaints. It would be nice to see the time on the external display without having to light it up by holding the volume button, but they clearly did this for battery life as the high quality external display takes considerable power to keep lit constantly.
buy it, you wont regret it.
the internal dispaly is very impressive and vibrant. calls sound clear, i use the speakerphone all the time and it works great.
with a 1.3 megapixal camera, speakerphone, voice dialing and an mp3 player, you will get a great phone for a resonable price.
