"Better than D807"
Pros: Screen; MP3s as Ringtones; Videos; Camera; Style
Cons: Locks up occasionally; unintuitive Ring Style selection
Summary: I am very happy with my decision to return Cingular's Samsung D-807 and get T-mobile's Samsung T-809.
Pros:
- Nice external speakers - really loud too!
- Excellent speakerphone
- Gorgeous screen
- Nice MP3 player
- External memory a HUGE plus!
- MP3's as ringtones!
- Photo/Video Caller ID!
Cons:
- Battery lasts about 30 hours with moderate use.
- Locks up sometimes if MP3's dont agree with it
- Volume Rocker plays 3 second clip of default ringtone if you change the volume. (annoying, can't do it quiety)
- Have to go through several menus to put it on vibrate mode.
Suggestions:
- Get a screen protector (like one for a PSP) and cut it to fit, that way you can press on the screen to open/close the slide.
- Use lowest brightness setting to achieve more battery time.
I like this phone so much better than the D807 because the external speakers/headset/speakerphone are much, much louder. The D807 that I had was very quiet and this one trumps it!
