The Bottom Line Despite a couple of design misfires, the Samsung SGH-X497 is a good starter cell phone with solid call quality. The original thin phone, the Motorola Razr V3 has a sexy design and useful features, but its performance isn't always up to par. The LG CG225 is neither terrible nor remarkable, but better midrange handsets are in Cingular's lineup. The Samsung SGH-A237 offers a bit of style, but ultimately there's not much to distinguish it from the cell phone crowd. The Nokia 2610 could stand some minor improvements, but on the whole, it's a decent choice for a basic cell phone.
