"A nice phone, but very fragile"
Pros: Music Player, good call quality.
Cons: Small LCD screen broke after 2 weeks, limited menu options.
Summary: I got this phone after switching to Cingular from sprint. It was a slight downgrade from the A-900m I had with sprint (which had software freezing issues, but thats another review). It has a decent music player and lots of little customizable features that make it fun to use. However, 2 weeks after purchasing the phone the small LCD screen on the front cracked. Now I am not particularly rough on my phones, I was keeping it in a nylon case in my pocket. it worked well for 2 weeks and then one day, for seemingly no reason the mini lcd gets broken. So I took it back th the store only to be told that they do not replace broken Phones. So if I wanted a new one I had to shell out $50 to the insurance company. This Phone is very very fragile. Not meant for normal use, if you leave on the desk or the office, it'll be fine. just keep it away from the slightest pressure, or the screen will crack and then your screwed.

i had had the phone for a few months when one day i took it out of my pocket, and the front lcd screen was cracked - just like that. i was upset, but at the least the phone still worked. two months later, the phone fell on the floor (open) and the main screen cracked as well. this time i wasn't so lucky. i couldn't see anything on screen, which made the phone almost impossible to use. and at&t said they couldn't do anything for me, since it was physically damaged. i would just have to buy a new phone at full price. besides for the fragility, i really liked the phone, so i was really upset that they didn't stock it anymore, and the "upgraded" model (the SLM) didn't have as many features, and if anything seemed to be a downgrade.

My LCD screen also cracked. It cracked 2 months after purchase. It was in my backpack, so I may have set my bag down wrong, but I didn't even care about the screen breaking. I took consolation in the fact that everyone I'd ever met with this phone had their screen broken as well. What made me mad was a month later I couldn't hear anything out of it. I had to use speakerphone all the time. So I took it to the store but the warranty was void because the ****** LCD screen was broken. I just used my upgrade 3 months earlier so i had to dish out a couple hundred for a new one.

No crazy pressure on the phone, but small LCD cracked. If it was some sort of abuse to the phone, the larger screen would have cracked as well. At least that one is still working...

I'm positive that my mini LCD cracked because of heat. Then weeks later the phone got caught in a reset cycle. Cingular refused to honor the warantee claiming I had "accidental damage" to the mini LCD, which broke while the phone was not in my pocket, being touched, or moving at all.

This is my 3rd Samsung Phone. I've dropped it too many times to count, banged the holster into things with the phone in it, even got it wet....still ticking. This is a very durable phone, as were my other Samsungs. You probibly just sat at a wrong angle, that will crack screens, like the one on my Treo. Keep it in the holster. This phone does everything it was designed to do extremely well.
