Pros Good Build
Good Sound, not great volume
Good Battery life
Nice menu interface
Has SD card slot
Triple minutes is Awesome
PC interface by SD card OK
Cust Serv has been OK..is offshore, but Ok so far
Cons Only Fair-to-Good Spkrphone
PC interface by cable not working...no driver seems to be avail for Vista.
Triple mins dont show on screen unless you call Cust Service
Cust Serv by fax is VERY slow and not as knowledgeable as on phone
Summary Higher initial price more than made up for by triple minutes plan...!! I rate this phone 4/5, since I am not a big texter or browser. GSM signal seems better than other GSM phones I've had at this address... I think this is one of Samsung's better phones if you don't need a large screen for browsing.
"GREAT Cell Phone!!!"on by dww-amw
Pros Has just about every feature you could ever want!
Cons Really needs a flip cover for the front & side keys...
Summary Bought this phone at Walmart for less than full price (about $60). Turned around 2 days later & bought another 1 for my daughters' birthday. We've been playing with this phone ever since. My wife & daughter can't ever seem 2 put the thing down!
Pros Nice qwerty keypad, easy to use for texting, good layout. With microSD card installed, easy to transfer pictures to PC.
Cons Net10 coverage could be better, some areas in CT I get poor signal. No headphone jack, have to buy Samsung adapter if you want to use wired headphone.
Summary If you get good GSM signal in your area, this is a great messaging phone at a fantastic price.
Pros 2MP camera with decent controls, no flash. 16 Gb microSD can be found cheap on net. Videos are saved in MP4.
Cons File system loses track of downloaded MP3's, can't be cured. You either get a given album or you don't, ever. Sundry annoyances with calendar and contacts apps. Problems displaying many imported images
Summary I replaced an LG500G Blackberry-style phone with this one for the sake of the better camera and the ability to handle 16Gb of memory. I am quite happy with the camera but this phone's behavior is otherwise unacceptable. The large memory I bought to put in it is less useful than it might be as the phone fails to detect around 25% of the music I download to it. Re-syncing or placing the music in different folders doesn't help - a given album will either show up first try or can't be accessed, ever!I forgot to mention battery life, barely 24 hours on standby before I start losing lines and any actual battery use like playing music or texting burns battery very fast. The lack of a standard earphone jack forced me to buy Samsung buds. Some pictures get truncated when I try to e-mail them. Get used to making compromises with this phone's limitations if you buy one. Thus far I haven't slammed the thing against the nearest wall only because I like the camera. That probably won't be enough to save it forever.
The phone has trouble displaying some downloaded images or videos the same size as others that work. Pictures and videos made with the phone work fine - the vidcam saves in .MP4 which is a plus.
There are annoyances with setting up repeated calendar entries and editing contact entries.
My old LG500G lacked the hardware niceties I "upgraded" for but its software was much better engineered at half the price.
All in all, this phone is a serious disappointment.
