"Dissapointed in this phone, voice quality inconsistant"
Pros: Has a mediocre camera and MP3 player; slim
Cons: MP3's skip, camera is mediocre, echo is a problem at times, unique universal accessory port, poor SD card location, poor Samsung service; poorly designed keypad
Summary: I am returning this phone. The main reason being that Samsung has only one port on this phone which handles charging, headphones, and USB connectivity. The problem is that this port is unique and you cannot find accessories anywhere but from Samsung(no not even at Fry's). The only thing you can find are some dinky earbuds at Radioshack. You also can't use MP3's as ringtones even though the phone is perfectly capable (probably bc Samsung would like to charge you an additional time for something you've already purchased.)
***I think most consumers would be wise to stay away from companies that try to FORCE them to buy ONLY THEIR products. ***
Also the Samsung Customer Service Rep. lied to me after consulting her supervisor(who i could hear in the background) She told me that you can pair this phone to a computer for file transfer which is capped at around 100 kbps. After buying a BT transceiver for my computer I came to find that the only thing you can pair this phone to a computer for is some sort of audio recording device that I found useless. So 10 dollars in gas and 4 hours of my wasted time later I am a very very dissatisfied soon-to-be ex-Samsung customer. I called them back cordially explained my predicament yet they did not feel the need to compensate me for my grief or even apologize.
You also have to remove the battery to take out the SD card though you can reinsert it after the battery is already in place. MP3 playback was inconsistent. Some of my music is encoded from my CD collection and some is from iTunes. It has problems with skipping and at times inconsistently refuses to play some songs altogether; displaying "NOT SUPPORTED" on the screen... but a restart of the phone and presto they magically play... and then choose not to... oh wait maybe again... no... no not this time either.
The keypad is crap. You have to press the keys with a fingernail even if you have tiny girly fingers like me. The nav ring is especially tricky. More often than not I end up mashing the wrong keys on this p.o.s.
Conclusion:
I don't see why I or anyone else should ever buy a Samsung product again. They are clearly one of the evil unethical corporations who wants to take usability away at any opportunity for them to make a buck. I vote "nay" with my dollars; hope the rest of you do the same.
