Works great for a basic phone.

Pros: Minimalist design

Cons: No external screen; no camera

Review: This was my first flip/clamshell phone handed to me to replace the bar style Nokia 8260 (which I so dearly love). It does what it's supposed to do -- make and receive calls. I like the minimalist design, the weight (2.8oz), and its compact size. Now that I own an iPhone, I still revert to this phone every now and then because of it's compact size. Sometimes you really just need a basic phone without being bombarded and distracted by features most phones offer today that we hardly ever use.

hate this phone

Pros: small and light

Cons: bad sound, bad ring tones, small buttons, low battery life

Review: I have had this phone for a while now and I really hate it. The battery runs out quickly. The ring tones are OBNOXIOUS. The sound levels are off so it hurts your ear sometimes and you sound terrible to the person you are talking to. Frequently when dialing an 800 number it hangs up on you (when you have to hit buttons to get through the menu). Often it doesn't ring when you dial out, although the person on the other end hears it ring--the line is just dead (although this may be a fault of the provider). I would not get this phone

This is a phone. It makes and receives phone calls.

Pros: Small size.

Cons: No external display

Review: I use my phone for making and receiving calls. I also occasionally check sports scores on the mobile browser when on the run. I have had no problems with this phone over the last two years. Reception seems to be good and I've had no complaints about the microphone. It is no doubt a very minimalist and basic phone, but it does what I need it to.

Sent It Back For Repairs and Has Broken Again

Pros: It has a bright led to illuminate the keys

Cons: Very poor quality!!! No Speaker-Phone Option, No Simple "Phone" Ringtone, Very weak hinge

Review: This is by far the worst cell phone I've owned!!! It broke on me once so I sent it back for repairs. It took over a month to get it back!! Now it is breaking up again. DO NOT BUY THIS Phone!!!

Phone works in the manner that I need it to work.

Pros: Easy to operate; menus are self-explanatory

Cons: The rubber that protects the connectors is hard to remove and easy to lose.

Review: Since I only use the phone for calls, I am very happy with it. It operates well. The battery life is decent (usually 3 full days).

Great phone for people on the go

Pros: Bright screen, great battery life, good reception

Cons: lack of external display, not a lot of bells and whitles

Review: Great phone if you're on the go. No this phone doesn't have a camera or voice control or anything like that, but it's still a really great phone. The sound is awesome, but I was a bit dissopointed about the ring tones that are shipped with it, some are quite annoying. Having no external display isn't a big dissopointment, although if you're too lazy to open your phone to check the time this phone is not for you:P The one thing that is a bit annoying about this phone besides the horrible rign tones is the fact that since this phone is so small it is really easy to drop. Samsung doesn't have any kind of gripping material on the phone so you better hold on tight or you'll drop it by accident. They do include a stylish string that attaches to the top of the phone which sort of makes up for lack of grips on the side of the phone. Overall it's a great phone, but don't spend more then $10 on it if you're buying it through a plan.

looks great, microphone is terrible

Pros: compact, color, easy to use, functional

Cons: terrible ring tones, microphone

Review: minimalist phone which is tiny, looks great, and is well designed BUT

ring tones absolutely suck. i mean suck. but this isn't a big deal.

the kicker is the microphone. it picks up external noise so the person you're talking to is deafened (if you're driving or in a loud area) and your voice is often distorted. often times people won't tell you this unless it is really bad, but it is always distorted. i exchanged my phone for another and still had this problem.

avoid this phone.

What is everyone complaining about?

Pros: Small phone, great battery life, good sound.

Cons: no external display, display hard to see in sunlight

Review: You bought a phone, not a computer. Who cares if it doesn't do media messaging or any of that crap. Its a phone. It makes calls, and its good at that. Its tiny...one of the smallest cell phones I've seen, and the buttons are still easy to use. This is a great little phone.

Cheap, but get what you pay for

Pros: Small and inexpensive

Cons: Low on features - No external display

Review: I have had this phone ever since I lost my other one. Since it was a back up phone (I didn't have insurance on the other one) I had to spend only a little bit of money and I chose this one for its price. I do not have many problems with it (no dropped calls) but the features are definitely lacking. Crappy ringtones, no external display (very annoying), and no camera all count against this phone. If you have the money (or definitely if you are getting a contract and can get a rebate) I would suggest springing the bucks for a better phone. This phone is pretty reliable and I have used it a lot but it just doesn't stack up with the latest generation of phones.

happy with the phone

Pros: great sound, easy to use, colour screen

Cons: ringtones kind of cheesy, no display on front

Review: Although my biggest complaint is that it doesn't have a display on the front the fact that you can see who's calling by flipping open the phone before actually picking up the call makes it a tolerable. I have a friend that her phone doesn't have that option, it simply picks up the call once she opens the phone.

It would have been nice if they had given us at least one normal ring for a ringtone, they're all pretty cheesy.

Decent PHONE, but no bells or whistles of any value

Pros: Compact, Interesting Ring Tones

Cons: Ringtones, Phonebook, Menus, ease of use

Review: Preset ringtones are interesting, but not acceptable in a professional setting. Took forever to find just a normal ringtone for work, but had to download for $$$. Having to pay for a NORMAL ringtone seems ridiculous.
Clamshell design FEELs flimsy, always afraid of breaking screen/speaker part. Sound is low, even at high volume.
Reception is better than my family member's year old motorola, so this seems like a phone feature.
Menu is ridiculous; no ability to just have text buttons, just film style and page style. Page style is confusing and hard to use. Film style is cartoonish, but easier to use!
Cannot send text messages after 3 months of owning it, perhaps network changes, may not be phone.
If I choose a different network, it will not stay on that network for long, so outside calling area's almost impossible to place a call.
Cannot set ringtones for each person in your phonebook, only in groups. And cannot silence certain calls, MUST have a ring tone for EVERYTHING. Would've liked to only be alerted by tone when family member calls.. no features that permit that.
Cannot change if a contact is stored on phone, or sim card after contact is entered; would have to delete contact and re-add.
Like all cell-phones, has a tendency to turn off all by itself at times.. but that's been rare for me.

The phone works, it has good call quality, decent sound. But its NOT good for organization, features, or ease of use.

You can find better phones out there. But its a good phone for what it does sucessfully, clear calls and fewer dropped calls. Its not a waste of money, but its certainly not the BEST of the BEST.

Because of recent network buy outs, I'm having to get new phones (Motorola V220 - which I would prefer to have over the Samsung Phone).
But I can say I'd not have any problem continuing to use this phone if I didn't HAVE to replace it.

I would have prefered a Motorola phone for its ease of use, and general reliablity. But this phone did the job!

nothing special

Pros: compact, clean appearance

Cons: constantly drops calls, poor reception, poor sound quality, mediocre text messaging capabilities

Review: The phone is small and the display is crisp, but other than that the phone does not have any outstanding qualities. This phone is very basic in function, which is fine expect for the fact that I had to deal with a lot of problems. It would take a long time to connect after dialing someone's number, it would drop calls constantly and many of the people i speak to complain about how loud I sound while i am speaking at a normal level tone. Also, it does automatically save your text messages, you have to go to options to save outgoing messages and there is no archive option to store messages out of the inbox. this phone is not recommend for avid text messagers

Pros: I have had this phone for three months now. It is lightweight, easy to slip in your pocket.

Pros: I like the picture quality and animations. Small, palm sized phone. Loud ring tones which is a plus for those of us hard of hearing. Small and light weight and holds a good charge. Good reception and overall call quality.

Cons: Received as an insurance "replacement" for my broken motorola t721. T721 has SCADS more features which I dearly miss! This phone (x426) has no outside window. No voice command calling, more steps to make calls by phonebook than is probably safe (driving

Pros: The x426 is a feature packed phone. I mean, it's nice. If you are looking for an inexpensive phone that has all the basic bells and whisles, but do not make tons of calls, this is you phone!

Cons: The three major issues are: 1) A non-standard 2.5mm headset jack. So this means that you can only use the poor Samsung earbud that comes with the phone. (No one makes a 3rd party headset for this phone. Period.) 2) The phone has NO noise supression i

Cons: Speaker on the phone is horrible, when talking on phone while driving in the car, it sounds like all the windows are down and the stereo is on high. Picks up a lot of background noise. Person talking on phone sounds very loud to person on other end. Po

Pros: It is small and lightweight and it rings clearly. Lots of options that are clear and easy to use, including available downloads.

Cons: The outside scratches and chips very easily. Unless you hold the phone in exaclty the right place it is hard to hear. I have never had people complain more about external noise (eg. hearing the car riding on a smooth road). Gives off a lot of static to ot

Behind the Times

Pros: It's small, lightweight, 3 alarm settings, decent ringtones

Cons: No outside Caller Id; no speakerphone; some features not available unless you pay for them (this may be an ATT issue); not very durable (1 drop & it's all scraped up. My Moto was a soldier!)

small, light, beautiful & worthless

Pros: Almost weightless at 2.8 oz. Color screen is great. The battery life is unreal. Very affordable.

Cons: Microphone is way to sensitive. Picks up all the background noise and then some. Reception and call quality are horrible (partly AT&T's fault). Tons of technical bugs. No voice activated dialing or "normal" ring tones. We bought 43 of them and are li

Pros: This phone is great, better than the Nokia 3100. It has a few games cool backrounds and ringtones and has almost all the stuff I need.

Cons: It doesn't have service inside the house all the time. It's too loud when I turn it on but it's still a good phone

Cons: But the actual "phone" part didn't work so well. My V66 had much better sound quality. Suddenly noone could understand me. I think the microphone was too sensitive. Apparently this isn't true of all the x426's, but has happened to more than a few.
