"I REALLY like this phone"
Pros: Great call quality, good camera and video, good mp3, on-demand weather, stocks, news, nice screen, sleek design
Cons: limited web and email functionality, volume rocker in inconvenient location
Summary: In order of (my) importance:
1) to me, a phone should first and foremost be a good, uh, phone. no point adding features at the expense of call quality. that's why i went again to a sanyo phone. calls on both ends are loud and clear with no audible distortion. though the antenna is internal, there seems to be no problem with reception. The speaker phone works very well, too. A+
2) the screens are brilliant, eye-pleasing and easy to read. A
3) the camera takes good pics and videos and has many setting options, though accessing those options requires quite a few keystrokes. B
4) the on demand weather, stocks, sports and news provides near instantaneous information for instant date-conversation topics. A
5) the mp3 player and micro sd card are easy to use and work very well. no earbuds are included, but using my old LG Fusic earbuds reveals a nice sound--better than the LG in my opinion. the mp3s can also be played over the speakerphone speaker. One thing i haven't been able to do is use an mp3 as a ringer tone--this is likely sprints idea to force you to have to purchase a ringtone. B
6) the design is very sleek and stylish. you won't get iphone-like envy, but the handset is light, comfortable, and the buttons have a very nice tactile feel and nice blue backlighting. minor complaint is the location of the volume rocker on the side of the screen, which is not where you are typically holding the phone, so either requires a second hand or risk dropping the phone repositioning one hand--but it's really no big deal. B+
7) Sprint TV. it's not really tv, more a collection of brief videos. it's cool i guess, works well, i'll never use it. C
8) email. does not support html. which, for me renders it useless. D
9) web browsing. does not support graphic heavy pages--hhmmm, do you know of a webpage that's not graphic heavy? no flash player = no youtube vids. D
10) ringtones.. they provide a bunch of them--they all suck. they always all suck--it's no big deal. C
11) bluetooth. i almost forgot, because i haven't used it yet, but apparently you can use bluetooth earbuds to listen to mp3s, listen to phone calls, and to wirelessly print photos from a bluetooth printer. that's cool. AUpdated
obviously the bluetooth earbuds are not used for printing. you'll need a bluetooth printer for that.
