"Best Sanyo Yet!"
Pros: signal strength, screen clarity, speed of pcs vision, loud ringtones, nice extras
Cons: no bluetooth, annoying looping in pcs vision, having to wait for dual desktop charger release
Summary: This is my fourth Sanyo phone and I think it is the best one yet. The signal strength gets better in each new phone I get.
The high resolution screen is a thing of beauty that lets you fit more words on-screen as well as more detailed and vivid pictures. Vision definitely loads much more quickly than my VM4500 did, but I am having problems with Hotmail access. I keep getting a stupid message about "this page will reload automatically or hit next" - I HATE THAT. It is also nice that the power plug is the same as the VM4500 and SCP-5300 so my car charger works with it already. I would really appreciate it if Sprint would hurry up and release the dual desktop charger, so I could purchase it and two extended batteries. Sanyo Corp. said that they were no longer producing the chargers, it was now done directly through Sprint. Although CNet said the battery life was weak on this phone, you have to consider that standard battery life on any CDMA phone (Sprint or Verizon) is poor, especially when compared to GSM (Cingular/ATT, T-Mobile). In all fairness, the majority (if not all) Sprint phone standard batteries are going to be pathetic, it is about the same as expecting great sound from the crummy earbuds that you get with your mp3 player. Some nice touches are the ability to have video ringtones, use the phone as an mp3 player (thanks to its memory slot), compress and watch full length movies and have AAC ringtones that sound great. One sad loss on the phone - the lack of the famous and wonderful Sanyo CLICK!
Bring the click back Sanyo!!!
