    "Great phone, but costly"

by ncklght on April 6, 2005

Pros: Wonderful features. I love what I can do with the phone, but why pay for options I will never use.

Cons: Some included items are just demos, voice recognition needs some help, side buttons awkward.

Summary: This is a great a phone, and if you got to Costco the Phone and accessory package is around $100.00 less than the phone alone at a Sprint store. The Holster designed for the phone is a piece of crap, My phone continualy fell out of the holster for a week or when I received a call I couldn't get the phone out of it. I bought a holder for the phone and have not had any problems. Sprint PCS Vision kills battery life I would have to charge the battery every day or two, but since I disabled automatic connection, it has been four days since I charged my phone and I still have full power. The speaker volume could be louder I have it maxed out, and I can barely hear the person on the other line, this is both a speakerphone and handheld issue. Sprint and AOL need to work on the buddy issue, when I first got the phone and decided to use the instant message service, I thought it was cool until I kept getting text messages from AOL saying (so and so) has signed on or signed off. The exterior buttons (all five of them) are akward, I am a delivery driver so I am in and out of a vehicle all, however everytime I get in or out of my truck, the phone beeps, because of keyguard, and yet when I try to invoke meeting mode I have to hit every button on the phone before it works. Voice recognition needs some help, it is better than most phones, but if it does not understand the number or contact you are trying to dial you have to look at the phone to see the options, scroll to the number, or select no, and start all over from scratch. I think that if the phone cannot understand the command then, I should be able to say no, not look at the screen pick the right button, and try again.
