"DO NOT BUY FOR CAMERA OR VIDEO"

by jeremyrnr on May 22, 2005

Pros: Loud speakerphone and earpiece, very customizable setup, decent reception.

Cons: Camera, Camera, Not enough memory, Only two settings for lcd brightness. Voice dial menu needs work.

Summary: There is no manual backup system for the voice dialing menu and it dials wrong 50% of the time. Had the phone a few days and I hope this is a learning phone, as in learn from your mistakes. But if you enter the name of the contacts to where it can "read" it better it seems to do a decent job. Although the phone will dial numbers in voice dial when speaking jiberish into the phone without asking for verification. There are 20 voice tag numbers you can program but even those you have to go through the voice menu. The brightness on the main lcd screen is either set at blaring or too dark. I will keep it because it is one of the only decent speakerphones out there at the moment. Gets good reception. The outside lcd screen is not high resolution but it gets the job done. I do like the large internal lcd screen though. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE FOR THE CAMERA. I am not kidding when I say you will get better pictures from a $20 digital camera at wal-mart, even evident on the lcd screen, warned you. Set at max resolution of 640X480 the camera will not zoom unless you lower the resolution. Pictures look very grainy and have a whitish haze. I feel this phone is a little to gimmicky and I wouldn't pay a great deal for it, I payed $160 on the sprint site. I can live with this phone but there are sure to be better phones in the near future, keep waiting.

Battery Life is a complete and total joke. One to two 5 min. phone calls, don't expect more than 21/2 days. I put my main LCD display on dim and it did not help matters. The phone has three bars for battery life by the second day its down to two, after that it can't be trusted. Once it hits empty and starts beeping you better be real close to a charger.
