"Excellent Phone"
Pros: Solid build; rubber grip; great speakerphone; nice color screen; easy menu navigation; exceptional battery life on standby
Cons: minor quibble - voice record button is on the side of the phone; gets pushed accidentally sometimes
Summary: People who prefer "candy bar" phones to flip phones should find a lot to like with this new Sanyo model, especially given the fact that it's getting harder to find these types of phones. The menu navigation is easy, the phonebook allows storage of multiple numbers for individual listings, speakerphone works well and battery life is exceptional (lasts days on standby). Someone was also smart enough to attach the charger port cover to the phone so it doesn't get lost. The phone has a bunch of other features, including a voice recording feature which I've never used. But, it's nice to know it's there. Overall, a very solid product.

I had the 4900 and then moved up to the 4930. I love the way it feels; solid and strong. I find the key pad easy to work as well as the navigation key. The 4900 had an easier voice dialing set up, more straight forward than the 4930 but it's still a hand feature. The sound quality is very good as is the speakerphone. Even with the body glove on, the speaker could be heard clearly. I've had flip phones and they're alright but I like the heft and ruggedness of the 4930.
Some say a camera would have been nice but as a amateur photobug, I really don't like the pictures from most cell phones I've seen. A real celcam will have 4 or 5 mp ability that can rival a dedicated camera. I think the 4930 is a great PHONE!
If you want a solid performer that does what it was designed to do, this is the one. -
I own this phone & I like it alot. The features a are excellent - I can't wait until Nextel & Sprint talk to each other - the walkie talkie feature. thats the only thing I miss othe than that this phone is solid & durable.
