Summary: this phone was great until i had to text message. i would complete a whole paragraph before it actually finished typing out my first few words. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL if you are an avid texter like myself this phone is NOT for you. i would have loved keeping this phone (returned it after a few days) had the text feature not been so horrible. bad BAD bad texting memories with this phone. too bad =(

Pros: Slim, Light Weight, Good Sound Quality, Texting works great
Cons: No Camera, Few & Unappealing Ring Tones, key pad "unlock" button is a tad quirky
Summary: Great sound quality (speaker phone works really well). Texting is not slow, contrary to other reviews, you just have to know how to play with the settings and fix it. Here's how:
On main menu select "settings", "others" (option 0), "text entry", "T9 Settings", "word choice list" and TURN OFF this feature!! This word choice list is what is making the phone texting so slow. Turn it off and viola!--texts like any other phone.
I would really like to keep this phone except for the fact that it doesn't have a camera. I was in a hurry and just assumed that it had one. If you don't ever use a camera, I would definitely recommend this phone. I would disregard the other two reviews simply for the fact that they were basing their rating upon how slow they thought the texting was--which is actually no reflection on the phone; they just didn't know how to correct it in the settings. -

Pros: Very small, rubberized shell, good battery life, good speakerphone
Cons: Horrible t9 text speed, web browser very slow, no other features.
Summary: I like the size of the phone a lot. Sometimes you have to search for it in your pocket. As a phone it performs well, but it stops there. The predictive text entry speed is so slow you can type 2 sentences and wait for it to catch up sometimes. The keys are small, but I have never found it a problem. I received a free month trial of the power vision package, and found this phone unable to use it. If you only want to make phone calls this is a great phone. If you want text, chat, or email don't even consider this phone.

Pros: Small; good reception
Cons: Probably not a good choice for those who want music, photos, web, and many other non-talk features
Summary: I was thrilled to find that a phone such as the Sanyo S1 is actually available. So far it has fully met my expectations. I use my personal phone to talk; I use other devices for other types of media and communication. The phone is super slim, compact, and for all its simplicity and seeming lack of design originality has even sparked phone-envy comments from others (who also commented that they don't take advantage of the full functionality their phones offer). I should note now that I personally do not like clam shell style or other "flip" phones, no matter what their features; moving parts don't do it for me in a phone - but I don't need an iPhone. I highly recommend this phone to those who use their phones primarily for talking, and particularly to those who cannot take camera phones into their workplace due to security issues (i.e. where employers are concerned about photos of prototypes, sensitive documents, etc. - may sound weird, but this is a segment out there).
Speakerphone: Worked well
Reception: Great so far (I have never had trouble with Sprint reception on previous phones)
Keypad "slipperiness": Not an issue
Exterior: Thin "rubber coat" - good protective surface that doesn't seem like to scar up quickly -

Pros: Good for emergency/URGENT calls. VERY LIGHT WEIGHT.
Cons: I barely use it to make any calls but have to charge it every night. Very poor battery life! Even if you buy new or refurbished, battery is bad. Won't last more than 2 days!
Summary: Not worth your money!
