"great speakerphone"
Pros: good sound quality - not too bulky - got a good deal
Cons: wish I could answer without opening the flip
Summary: I was kind of forced into a sprint phone by virtue of my horrible nextel phone dying and breaking in mid cycle. I decided to flip to sprint to avoid early termination fees. I have only had this phone a few hours, but did a lot of research and comparisons - it is the only sprint phone with a decent speaker phone (better than ALL the samsungs, and I wouldn't ever consider motorola again)- to me this is the most practical feature - while driving or working on the home computer, I can put the phone down and still talk to folks. I like bells and whistles, but not at the expense of a good phone - so I picked this instead of the sanyo mm 8300 which had way more features, and I could have gotten for free. The 8300 had a slightly more akward key layout, and a marginally worse speaker phone. Using the phone and hearing good sound quality are the point of a phone after all. So far I am happy. will update in a few weeks. by the way, the wife could hear me fine on the phone, but when I called sprint customer service on the 3100, the rep kept saying that she couldn't understand me!Updated
I was wrong on my prior "con" comment. I just learned that I CAN answer the phone with the clam shell closed. Very nice and very convenient! Speakerphone kicks in when I hold and press the walkie talkie button.
