"Damn Good phone" on by carguy30021

Pros: excellent sound quality, easy to use Mp3 player, easy navigation through the phones menus, durable phone over all

Cons: macro swtich on the camera, plain looking, not enough space on sd

Summary: I just upgrade from the sanyo 8300 a couple days a go. I have been very impressed by the 8400 thus far. The only gripe I have about the 8400 is that the largest micro sd that you can get is a 1 GB card, they need to a least a 4 GB card.

"Best phone yet" on by mtrcity

Pros: Features - EVDO and BT

    Cons: None so far

Summary: Just upgraded from a Sanyo 8100, and this is indeed quite an upgrade. No issues so far. Great call clarity and reception. BT paired with my Dell laptop and Plantronics 510 headset flawlessly.

"I love this phone" on by Becki67

Pros: bluetooth, free sirius radio, music player, looks great, good reception, lots of features

    Cons: Nothing yet

Summary: I just upgraded from the Sanyo 8200 which I loved. It's just 100 times better than that phone with the Blue tooth, the MP3 player, all the features that Sprint gives you under the power vision plan. I've never written a review before but this phone is definitely worth it. You can also get free NFL.com from Sprint which is a great application.

So far I haven't found anything wrong yet, but I haven't tried to use all the features of it. I'll update this review when I find the flaws.

"Nice phone, with kick butt fast connections" on by perdue1316

    Pros: Bright flash

    Cons: Plastic phone

Summary: Pretty good phone overal, it has everything you would need and want in a phone, I will want to keep this phone around because of its beautiful features, but Sanyo has created a beautiful phone with a plastic case. Plastic case!!!! A flip phone with a plastic case! I would have much rather enjoyed the phone with a ionized aluminum case and maybe a something to reinforce the screen if some lays on it. but overall nice phone.

"Excellent Full Feature Phone" on by celebrin_v

Pros: Great Call quality, Features, and Media Playback

Cons: Still Pictures are low quality, no date on screen

Summary: Great phone for the money, plays all media extremely well with quick one button access to the player, nice quality sound on decent headphones, and the speaker on the phone itself sounds fair for a mono speaker. Speaker phone is great, battery life is awesome for both talk and standby, but drains noticably more rapidly when using bluetooth.

Side buttons are handy for recording audio and snapping shots, audio recording is great, perfect for note taking and meetings and supports both handset and speakerphone modes for recording. Volume controls on the side are context sensitive, by default its ring volume, on a call its call volume, when recording its recording volume, etc.

The headset jack automatically recognizes Mono/Stereo/Headset plugins and switches to and from handset to headset to bluetooth seemlessly. The headphones it comes with are nice for foam covered buds and the sound quality is good as is the microphone (nobody complains they can't hear me).

Bluetooth works great with both my Dell X1 laptop and my Jabra BT350 headset, and on the headset, one it was paired it auto connects after as soon as the headset gets turned on without accessing the phone. Speakerphone is also solid, make a call, one button switch to speaker, close the phone and you're all set.

SD card is accessible under an easy rubber cover and can be used with snap cover in place with an easy click in/out slot. Format is standard for Cameras on storage and can be managed easily with standard SD reader on your PC. Had no problems loading up my MP3's in folders but there is no playlist support... Videos are 3GP format and phone handles up to full movie sizes no problem (200mb for Tomb Raider plays great). And the phone supports standard and rotated modes (movies look alot nicer wide screened after 90 degree rotated) and does it on the fly during playback.

Storage is not an issue with 2Gb MicroSD cards for $25 available. Only drawback is you can't assign loaded MP3 files as ringtones, but easily fixed by using the Sprint Uploader service to send them.

Runs most Java Apps perfectly (including Gmail and Google Maps) games take a couple seconds to load but easy to pull from websites and/or Sprint.

Tex messaging is another strong suit, easy T9 features, built in text and graphics emotes (smileys) and predictive word typing for people who use the same phrases often. Text messaging can be replied to by return text or calling sender with one button access.

The USB cable does use a proprietary jack on the phone (sorry no C type connector) and works as a 3 way connector, an easy to use FlashDrive accessing the Media and SD folders, PictBridge for pictures, and as an EVD0 modem.

The camera is the only weakness, the still picture quality is moderate to poor even under good picture conditions, strangely the camera does shoot great video with audio included, and is only limited to the SD card size.

Bottom line, I love my phone.
