"Best phone I have ever had with Sprint"
Pros: So many to name...
Cons: So few to name....
Summary: I have been with Sprint for five years and I have used 7 different phones. I had three different Samsung's on the old network (SCH-300, A400, A460) and two other Sanyos (8100, 8200) and have also tried out the LG-VI125 for a week. Now, I have this phone (I got it at Radio Shack, it was the last one they had in stock) and I have never had a better phone. It holds a full reception better than any of the other phones and the call quality is more clear and crisp than any of the other ones as well. The town I live in is rather hilly, but this phone doesn't have a problem getting a reception unless you are in the known low or dead zones. The walls of my apt are cinder block which kill cell-phone signals. This phone is impressive in holding at least one or two bars (out of 4) most of time, but sometimes will have zero bars and on a rare occasion will lose signal for a few seconds at most. The menu's resemble all other Sanyos and except for a few minor changes in layout, they are still easy to use. The speakerphone sounds decent, though I do wish it was true full-duplex. The camera is decent for VGA quality, but when the light is low it tends to have a greenish look to the photos and videos. The phone has a cool blue color, slick design, and sturdy feel to it, though I wish the camera and voiced side keys were a little bigger and the numerical keypad itself feels a little small. The four gray keys surrounding the navigation button only light up around the perimeter, not the actual symbol, so they are not as easy to use in the dark. The size of the phone is not an inconvience for me at all, I like the feel and weight of the phone. I also wish the phone had a memory card so I could get pics and videos off the phone without having to use the internet and so I could save more stuff on it. I also wish the phone had more variety of ringers and other personalization features not related to the camera, such as backgrounds and colors. I paid full price for this phone ($300), but the reception and call quality make it worth every penny and I do not feel bad at all about my purchase. If you need a new phone that does the job the way phones are supposed to do the job, then try to find one of these VM4500's.
