"SOME PEOPLE EXPECT TOO MUCH" on by spongebob92376

Pros: Cool design....Great basic features for a " CELL PHONE"

Cons: A little difficult to program.

Summary: When I read the reviews for products (face it--there are negatives for every product), it baffles me as to what exactly people want from these items....It's a d@mn cell phone people, it's not supposed to wipe your @$$ for you!!....This Siemens CF62T serves all my needs just fine....I like the cool design, the display is bright and large enough, and it has the ability to download extra tones, wallpapers, etc....Since I was used to my old phone, the only trouble I had with this one was programming it, but after reading the directions carefully enough (imagine that--READING DIRECTIONS), I was able to figure out the basics....So, if you are looking for a "phone" to make "phone calls", and not a device responsible for every aspect of your life, this phone would suit you just fine.

"Not too shabby. Ace with me!" on by Ceej

Pros: Great reception in my area; Lightweight; great colors; Speakerphone works well; easy & fun to record own tones; cool Dynamic Lights; AIM came with mine

Cons: Needs better menus; not much extras; loading time very slow; no hi-fi ringtones (not really important)

Summary: This phone is very delicate to handle. If you handle your phones rough, of course this phone is not for you. I came from a family of Nokia phones so I can adjust pretty well to this one. It is very lightweight so there is a chance that I may loose this one.
Recording my own ringtones is pretty cool. It's not hi-fi but it works. I already recorded and set a Star Trek communicator sound wav whenever I open the clamshell. Granted it's not as loud or as crisp & clear as I want it but it works well enough.
You just got to take the time and play with it or even read the user's guide plus anything else. For example, I've read a lot of complaints about battery life. You can definitely get about 9 days of stand by time if you turn off extra features like, lights, backlight display, alarms, or anything else that may suck up battery power. That's why specs state "Stand by: UP TO 9 days". You can get those 9 days if you turn off those extra feature.
My wife however, trust her Motorola v180 more because it fits her perfectly. She says that this phone is kind of flimsy for her. So basically get the phone that would suit you.
It's really not such a bad phone at all if you handle it and take care of it well. It upsets me how some people do not read the details of this phone.

"SHOULD BE RECALLED" on by o7ws

Pros: You will get to know your T-Mobile reps very well as you call them again and again and again

Cons: phone powers down on its own. slow software.

Summary: I give this an abysmal rating (1 of 10) because the phone randomly starts shutting down. I have had the phone replaced 5 times by T-Mobile and it doesn't solve the problem and they refuse to apply the phone cost to a different working model phone.

No one should be selling this phone - some T-Mobile resellers have already stopped doing so. Even though you can get it FREE from T-mobile or other places, I still wouldn't get this phone. What's the point if all you end up with is missed calls and voice messages (that is once you power the phone back on)?

Also, Siemens' software is so slow getting through the menu or phonebook, it sometimes "forgets" the buttons you push if you push them to fast. Never had that problem with my previous motorolas and nokia phone.

"A class-action lawsuit in the making" on by majuric

    Pros: 3-band capability

Cons: Shuts down randomly, extremely slow, battery cant last longer than 2-3 days

Summary: I bought this phone from T-Mobile, because of it's 3-band capability (comes in handy during trips to Europe).

However, this turned out to be the worst phone I've ever owned and/or seen. It shuts down randomly every now and then (a software bug?). The battery knows to drain from 50% to 0 sometimes in a single day, and the software is so slow that it's virtually unusable, especially for text messaging. For example, almost any function you press on the menu will first show you the 'please wait' dialog for a few seconds. This is the first time I've seen this in a mobile phone. The slowness is exacerbated by T-Mobile's poor coverage in my area, where the phone frequently looses the signal which slows it down even further, to a crawl (is it using the processor to find the network?).

I cannot recommend this phone to anyone, even if it were free (and it was $79.99) and after this phone Siemens becomes a big no-no in my book. This phone is riddled with bugs and defects, which Siemens and/or T-Mobile stubbornly refuse to ackgnowledge. I will purchase a tri-band Nokia as soon as I get the chance.

"After 5 months of use battery charge does not last a busniess day." on by esfabian

Pros: Came free with 1 year T-Mobile service plan

Cons: Rated battery life only half of contract duration.

Summary: Siemens' User Guide p.62 states "the battery has been designed and manufactured so that it can be recharged and used for six months after the purchase of your cell phone." With a one year contract you are forced to buy an additional battery per phone at $70 each, or to be resigned to less than a business day's usage per day (or to carry a charger around full time).
