"The Sonim XP1 bt (Bluetooth) is poor. Plain & simple."
Pros: The phone actually feels very good in the hand. Had the phone delivered on promise (and Sonim promises quite a lot), it would have been great. The phone however fails badly.
Cons: The phone is both mechanically and functionally from poor to very poor. It really ought to have the warning "UNFINISHED PRODUCT" painted all over it.
Summary: Here we go:
Battery door has no seal. Many highly viscose fluids will enter easily (oil, petrol etc)
Screw for batt door small and flimpsy, and will break upon not too many operations.
Batt door can be hinged wrongly, leaving is fully exposed to various.
Rubber flap to protect USB connector is impossible to position.
Default extern speaker level cant be adjusted, and is WAY too loud.
Phone cant communicate with Window PC via cable.
No XP drivers available for phone.
Phone cant pair with my Volvo S80, phone goes black and reboots on each attempt
Although you can upload pics into "Own Pics folder", when tryign to use own pics as wallpaper, phone says "Folder Empty" (despite files being present)
Cant store received numbers via VCARD's, numbers needs being added manually.
Ladies and gents.
I have had this phone for less than 24 hours, and I have found so many issues with it by now that I just cant be bothered any longer. There is nothing on the Sonim website as to technical help to any of the listed issues. This product clearly were relased long before finished, and Sonim apparently havent had time to clear up the mess later on. My phone will go on ebay as "as new"
Unless you're prepared to face a lot of aggravation operating the phone, I think you'd rather look elsewhere. Im just about 50, and have had mobiles since they weighed about 10lbs. This is undoubtedly the one I have ever had the highest level of frustrations over !!!!!
