"Great phone with some really bad luck."
Pros: Good call quality, flawless OS, clear camera, nothing short of an SE brand phone.
Cons: AT&T cripples a very good thing. Who's idea was it to lock the mp3 ringtone feature on an mp3 player/phone. Weak keypad cracks from overuse.
Summary: I've always been a huge fan of Sony Ericsson phones. I go through phones more than anyone I know, and personally I love this phone. Or at least I wish I could love this phone. I know deep down its probably amazing. But like I said I go through phones like crazy, not for fun, but because of my luck. I started off with the grey w580. This one I had the problem with button cracking, 7 buttons were cracked, just cracked. It didn't affect the performance, just a little disappointing for a phone designed by a company that is very popular in Europe, the texting capitol of the world. Then I came across a problem with bluetooth. It stopped working, I even performed a factory reset and firmware update and still no luck. I went back to Best Buy and exchanged it, for the white w580, only this time AT&T branded. What a mistake. Hey the keys hold up great. NO MP3 RINGTONE! You've got to be kidding me. What purpose does that serve. Anyway, if you get this, go for the unlocked phone, and in white if you can. I've heard, for whatever reason, the white ones keypad holds up a lot longer than the grey. I wish I could give it a 9 but with my luck I just can't do it. Thought you all should know about the problems I've had.

For some reason, AT&T limits the size of mp3 ringtone files to 600KB. But an audio editing program (ex. Audacity) can be used to trim down you favorite songs into ringtones. It's kind of a hassle, but the sound quality is great on the phone. Also, even 96kbps sounds great and it allows you to use about 50 seconds of your mp3 file.
