this phone for around $350. Talking bout Pros and cons. I love the design. i think it's pretty different and sporty types.
The battery back up is amazing even with the Walkman Switched On. You don't have to open the phone again and again to access
various things. Everything can be accessed through the buttons on the main face itself. The voice clarity on a call is
superb. Even the display quality if pretty cool (Clear and sharp). The flash light is powerful enough to help you replace
your car's tire on a highway, compact enough to fit in our pocket. Amazing sound clarity even with highest volume level with
top level of BASS.. it gonna below your ears (it has the following EQ Presets: Normal, Bass, Mega Bass, Voice, Treble boost +

faces so that you can change it as per your mood ((Orange (default); White (in box); Blue (optional)) Locking and unlocking
the keypad is very easy. It has a dedicated switch like key on its left for the same. On pressing the shutdown button
(located at top left) you get option to change the profile making it easier to change profile as per the environment or you
can put the phone directly on Silent Mode using the # key (which enables the vibration automatically). A dedicated volume
control on the right using which you may even change the song. You might take a week's time to get use to the interface. A
dedicated button to switch on the Walkman (on the main interface itself - bottom right) Dedicated button for internt access -
bottom left.
The Camera
It has a dedicated button for camera (on the right side), but please ensure that the phone is closed while when u wanna use
the camera. It has following Image Sizes available
160 x 120 -> 4X Digital Zoom;
640 x 480 -> 2X Digital Zoom;

A CLIP IT IS SO NOISY THAT YOU DON'T EVEN WANNA SEE IT. I COMPARED MY PHONE PICS WITH MY FRIENDS WHO CARRIES A NOKIA 6600...
I THINK 6600 ROCKS. (IF U WANNA SEE THE RESULTS LEMME KNOW I'LL EMAIL EM TO YOU)
You can have an animated wallpaper or static a you like. The in built themes are pretty cool.
It has 3 games inbuilt: Extreme Air Snowboarding 3D; Gauntlet; Worms Fort 3D. You can change the screen from potrait to

It has a memory capacity of around 230 MB (usable) around 75 songs @ 96 kbps or 50 songs @ 128 (the memory is not extendable
hence i think they shud have provided with atleast 512 as the default memory). The transfer speed using Blue tooth is max of
40 KiloBytes Per Second. You can switch between profiles on the press of one button (Power button). All the profiles are
appropiate to the environment. Default Proifiles: Normal, meeting, In Car, outdoor hansfree home and office.

i'll ensure that i reply. Hope the article helps you make a choice if this is your 1st SOny phone (like
me). Also you can request me for the games and other stuff on this email address. I'll try and post a few detailed pics of
the phone over the net soon. you may request for the same on the same email address. BTW one last thing, the phone comes in
with a DATA cable around 1.5 m long (USB) to transfer data from PC to phone. YOu can use the phone as a pen drive as well.
For eg u can transfer zipped files over the bluetooth unlike most other brand phone.Sound quality is better than a ipod.

"Great MP3 phone" on by vtecaddict
Pros: MP3 software easy to use; interface is not laggy
Cons: No expandable memory slot
Summary: Sony Ericsson w600i
Design
This is the second swivel phone from Sony Ericsson, the first being the s710a. The swivel makes it slightly awkward to use, especially with one hand. But, you only need the keypad to input numbers or type something (like text message or memo, etc) so you can do without opening the phone most of the time. The bright orange faceplate is very eyecatching...which can be both a good and bad thing. Thankfully, theres a navy blue faceplate in the box (Cingular branded version, not sure about unbranded versions). It has a nice weight too it, not too light, but not too heavy. Construction is solid. No creaky plastic or anything. the swivel clicks in place solidly, and the phone just feels very well put together.
Features
This phone has pretty much everything you can think of. All that it needs to make it perfect is an expandable memory clot (it comes with 256mb shared internal memory). The 1.3 megapixel camera is better than most phone cameras. It comes with several games, but they are only demo versions and keep nagging you to buy the full versions. It didnt come with many ringtones, maybe about 8? But who would use the stock ringtones when you can use MP3 ringtones? This phone also has EDGE high speed data, which is faster than the normal GPRS data on GSM phones. Quadband 850/900/1800/1900 makes it truely a world phone. The Walkman music player application is great. The menus are very similar to that of Apple's iPods, so its very easy to use. The UI is also very fast, no lag at all. Some other features include speakerphone, bluetooth and infrared.
Battery Life
In a word, its great. I used it a lot yesterday, listening to music (two full albums--connected to external speakers), radio, taking pictures, and making several calls. At the end of the day, it still had 63% battery life left.
Call Quality
Call Quality is excellent. Of course, this is assuming you're in an area with good reception. Voices dont sount "tinny" like on many phones. Calls were clear and earpiece volume is pretty loud.
Overall Opinion
I LOVE THIS PHONE! I thought I would hate it at first because of the swivel form factor and because it doesnt have dedicated send/end keys. Both turned out to be a non issue. The only gripe is no expandable memory slot. I find myself having to encode MP3s at 96kbps just so I can fit more songs on there. -
"Awesome potential but flaws" on by Talenthound
Pros: capabilities, features, mp3
Cons: glitchy software, swivel
Summary: Had the phone 3 weeks now and I really want to like it. Bought it because I wanted a combined phone, mp3 player and the ability to access email while away from the office. The phone does a great job providing all three of the above. I like that it is small and the screen is super sharp and easily viewed.
However, it isn't without flaws. After ending a call the phone powers off then flickers several times before rebooting about 50% of the time. I was originally attracted to the swivel design but after using the phone for a while I am not a fan. Although most functions can be accessed from the buttons on the front of the phone I need to open it to look up most contacts because my contact list is lengthy and it takes too long to scroll through instead of using the alpha keys for lookup. That is the problem. The swivel design is very awkward to open with one hand unlike a flip phone. This doesn't sound like much and when I first realized it I wasn't too worried about it. However, as I have used the phone for a few weeks the swivel design has become a real pet peeve for me.
The MP3 player is exceptional and the email and web access work well and are easy to navigate. The charger/synch/mp3 download/headphone plug is big and awkward. It also seems like it might be easy to damage but I haven't had any problems with it.
I'm going to take it back to Cingular under their 30 day free trial and look at what other options there are. Hope this helps. -
"ONE OF BEST PHONES EVER, YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED" on by Kyle32
Pros: wonderful camera, wonderful mp3(great sound), and wonder phone quality
Cons: nothin really
Summary: This is a really good phone. You have to trust me, i won this phone in a contest so it was free, but for 150$ i would buy, which is the real price. HELL YEA IT IS SUCH A COOL PHONE. YOU'LL LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Updated
O.K. i have had this phone for about a week, it is the best phone i have ever had. My first phone was the sony ericsson Z500a which was an ok phone, then i had the motorola V555 and that was a lot better, and then i got the W600i, which blows the other two out of the water! this is a really simple phone, i am in middle school and i have already mastered it. It has a really good mp3 player, it can hold up to about 80 or 90 songs, and i have already 13, down loading songs is so easy, all you have to do is put in the disk that comes with the phone and then install the walkman part, and then you hook up your phone to the computer and you download songs, that simple, it also comes with these cool headphones, and it has a piece on the headphones where you can talk into. Also the camera is wonderful, it has a 1.3 mexi. camera, which is really good, and it has a really powerful flash for the camera, also the flash can be a flashlight. It has a TON of cool features, really cool games, worms forts, snowboarding, and gaunlet(a fighting game.), it also has a thing where you can make your own ringtones, and were you can put clip art on your pics. that you take, also it has a videoDJ were you can make your own commericals by adding text, sounds, etc. it only has 2 themes, or that is all i got, they are blue and orange, ok wallpapers and screensavers, it has a wonderful speaker. you can also put the mp3's as your ringtones. So this is a really cool phone. and the people you give this a low score are just old or really stupid because this is more of a kid phone, and this phone is hell-a-cool. so who dosen't agree with me don't say anything i don't want to hear it and i don't care. and if you do agree with me let me hear you say HELL YEA! -
"Great Features, cumbersome design" on by cidhighwind55
Pros: screen is beautiful, the mobile web is really quick, lots of great features to play with
Cons: A bit pricey; it's such a hassle to get to any of the great features the phone has to offer
Summary: So, my boss recommended the w600i, Sony's competitor to the ROKR, and despite the $300 price tag (with a $100 rebate, reducing the final price to $200, but I had to front 300 instore), i went ahead and picked it up. I took it home and was playing with all the neat features that it has. To start, the screen is simply amazing -- everything is crisp and clean ans such a pleasure to look at. The 1.3 megapixel camera takes some really high-quality pictures for a camera phone and the Walkman functionality works just as well as any mp3 player (though only 256 mb is available, and there is no expansion slots for sd cards or what have you).
It also seems that it was supposed to be a super-wireless-videogame-system, though the games that were packaged with the phone (some racing game and a few throw-away puzzle games) were absolutely abysmal. the racing game was choppy, slow and unresponsive and it takes a good amount of time to load up and cancel out of the phone. If you're looking to play games on the go, get a game boy advance; what's available as 'hardcore' games are truly horrible.
Now as far as the clunky system design goes, it's really a tarnish on what could have been an amazing phone. The key pad is on a swivel base, so to open it up, you have to twist the two parts of the phone and it's a real hassle when it seems that the phone is made to be closed for the most part. If it was a phone where the top slid up to reveal the keypad on the surface underneath, like on the Samsung SCH-i730, that would work rather well as it's a simple and pleasing design. If you want to dial up a number, you have to open the phone; if you want to find a name in your phone book, you have to open the phone. It sounds like a lame complaint, but when you play with the phone and all of the hot-buttons are on the face, you want to keep it closed as much as possible.
Dont misunderstand and think that i'm saying that this is an out and out poorly made phone -- it's not. It does what it's intended to do and it does it well. If it was a phone that slid up to reveal a keypad rather than twisting around, i would probably give it an 8 or so. The fact that you are put through such a hassle really takes away from it. Sure, i could have some great functionality, but if it's so bad to get to them where I dont want to deal with getting to the fun things this phone has to offer, it's really not worth it.
