"The bulky design belies an internal antenna and a camera with video."

    by el_dub04 on July 15, 2005

Pros: video/camera, internal antenna w/ great reception, clamshell design, side volume buttons, dual color screens, reliable, tough, mp3 ringtones compatible, picture caller ID, multi-functional

Cons: no brightness control, spkr only avail. when call is connected, bulky, no bluetooth, keypad is sluggish when text msging, dust gets on screens, inconsistent battery life, no full-version games instald

Summary: I got this phone because I am sick of phones with external antennas that get caught on things and overall just look bulky and I like flip phones because you do not have to lock the keys to put them in your pocket. I got a great deal on it and wasn't really in the market for the extra video features.

This phone has been a more reliable phone than my previous phone, a Motorola T721, but has less features. Though not significant, the absence of features mentioned in the con are annoying nonetheless.

However, this phone has held up better than my T721. I dropped this phone several days after receiving it and it received minor cosmetic damage. I dropped it later and didn't notice anything different! My T721 had both cosmetic and software damage after being dropped several times and eventually became useless. I then removed the SIM and discarded the phone.

The reason I give this phone a rating of "six" is because of these features being absent. If I could rate it on an individual scale, the following would be my ratings:

Reliability of Phone: 8/10 (only because it is plastic; metal would understandably hold up better.)

Reliability of Service: 10/10 (In Cingular areas, I pick up better signal than my girlfriend who has an external antenna. It also beats out verses Verizon in a more remote area.)

Features: 4/10 (Phone is very limited on adjustments and user tweaks, no full-version games installed, hoky stock ringtones).

Design: 7/10 (Love the flip, love the internal antenna, lose the bulkiness)

That's pretty much it. Hope this helps. By the way, I love Cingular's rollover minutes!
