"GREAT Phone...with a few drawbacks!"
Pros: QUAD BAND, Bluetooth (which works great!), Simple Nav. Menu, Non-Bulky Antenna, LED Light Show, Crisp/Clear Sound, 16 MB memory!, Customization!
Cons: Non-Disable Camera outside button function, Outer Screen Darkens way too quick and Time is unreadable after that!
Summary: Well, let me just say a little bit about my experience with the Z520....I think it's a GREAT to EXCELLENT phone for all the features along with the price! I'm sure that there are better phones out there with some or better qualities, but overall this phone packs an AMAZING punch for being so cheap (I upgraded and paid 89.99 plus tax with a $50 mail in rebate)! I am currently using the Bluetooth and absolutely love it! I use it in the "headset" mode, so I can't wait until I get the "dongle" for the computer so I can send/receive stuff that way instead of "downloading" stuff via the phone inet...(which costs money!)...
I do see how the camera outerbutton could be a "problem"...I however bought a Belt Clip off the internet (paid 7.89 for it with shipping from cellphoneshop.com) Since I've started using the clip, I haven't had any mistaken photos!
My biggest and main gripe is probably the outer screen...it goes "black" in a short amount of time....and you can't read the time/date when it is blackened! Oh well....I guess I'll have to stop being lazy and actually touch the button to light it up!....Oh...and another thing about that outer screen...the time/date font, etc...is a "little" bit small...wished it were bigger/easier to read.......
Overall....a "Great to Excellent" phone packed with plenty of features with some "Minor" drawbacks.....But, since when is there ever a "Perfect" phone....and I've been using "cell phones" for 10+ years now....and have never had a "perfect" cell phone....
This has by far been my best Cell phone! I've had Nokia's...and Moto's before....and this one blows those out of the water...of course those were "older" models...But, I am glad I made the switch to SE!

This phone is nice at first, but it starts to malfunction after six months of owning it. I have two friends that have the same phone and they are having problems with theirs also. Problems include vibrating when it is on ringer, the microphone being muted and sometimes the screen will turn white.

Extremely helpful review. I'm in the process of upgrading and you told me what I needed to know. Most other reviews were too one-sided. While it was clear that you like your phone, you did address a couple of questions that I'd come up with from reading other reviews.
On another note: as a professional writer I need to tell you that "quotes" should only be used for actual quotations. (That wasn't one.) Emphasis on other words should by by italics or underlining. Ref: http://tinyurl.com/2wouv (see the very bottom of the page).
